Ricky

Was your ancestor naturalized citizen? Did he have social security numbers? http://ssdi.rootsweb.com
Those forms would have a precise place of birth. Did you locate his manifest?

LODZ

Searching for relatives- I'm looking for anyone with the name of Lodzuk. My grandfather was from Ukraine. I have not been able to find anyone, anywhere; There are 3 of us located in Phoenixville, Pa. Sounds as if the lodz could have been shortened, especially since you mentioned Poland. My grandmother was from Poland, her name was Theodozia Nykol. Please contact me at my e-mail. This is the closest I have come to finding any spelling close to my maiden name. My grandfather was John and he had four brothers. He came to the US. His other brothers may have gone to Poland, etc.

My line is now LOETZER and they feel that the name was originally something like LODZ. It could also be LOEZ or LOEZer before it was made into LOETZER. They came into NY and resided in NJ most of the time. My email is Fizztrnspl@aol.com if you want to contact me further. But we may not be anwhere close but you never know.
