Thomas Logston m Hettie Wiggington in 1886 - Campbell Co., TN

According to marriage records, Thomas Logston married a Hettie/Hattie Wiggington (or Wigginton, Wigington, etc...) on December 24, 1886 in Campbell Co., TN. Is anyone familiar with this couple? If I have the right lady, I believe Hattie/Hettie married a John Hood in 1905 and then Julian Reed in 1911. Those marriages took place in Campbell Co., TN as well, although she lived in Whitley Co., KY with Julian Reed. I cannot find Hattie/Hettie in 1900 or 1910 census records under any of the above surnames, with or without a husband.

Logstons/Logsdons in Marshall Co. WV

My ggg grandfather, Joseph Logsdon/Logston (b. 1796 MD) moved to and lived his life in Ohio county (later became Marshall Co.). He married Sarah McGary on 25 Oct 1835. They had at least 4 children: James (b.1837), Sarah (b. 1836), Joseph (b. 1844; m. Eliza Ferguson)--Joseph A. is my gg grandfather. Joseph senior came from Maryland with three others around the same age. I don't know if they are brothers: Anthony (b. 1801 MD), James (b. 1805 MD), Lawrence (b 1812). Prior to them coming there was a Bennett Logsdon (b. 1774 MD). I'd love to hear from anyone who knows something about these and their relationships. Also want to hear from you especially if you're are a Logston in Marshall County. I'm way out here in California--it's hard to do research. Thanks!

Do you have anything on a Patience Logston (Logsdon) married to a John Flatt? John Flatt at one time 1802 - 1803 supposedly owned Mammoth Cave (then called Flatt's cave) and the surrounding 200 acres. It is said that Patience Logston and possibly a child are buried outside of the historical entrance to Mammoth Cave.

This is probably a very huge long shot, but I have a Serelda Reynolds married to a Fleming Logston. Serelda was the sister of Flemings first wife Sarah Ellen. The last census I have Fleming on is 1870 in Linn County Kansas. Could it at all be possible that this is a second marriage for her? My Serelda was born around 1843 in Indiana.

I am very interested in where the story about Patience and a child being buried at the mouth of Mammoth (Flatt's) Cave. I am aware that Flatt married a Logsdon and that he bought the cave from a Valentine Simons. Am very interested in hearing what you know and comparing stories.

How about Elizabeth Logston, born 11/17/1800 in Kentucky, died 10/9/1869 at Callao Macon County, MO. Her dad was William and her spouse Barton Fletcher. Thanks!

Ohio Logstons

My great great grandmother was Pearl M. Logston (1/27/1894 - 5/7/1989). Her husband (my great great grandfather) was Alva Logston 1871-1944). They are burried in Tiverton Cemetery, Tiverton Twp, Coshocton County Ohio. They lived near Tiverton Center in a little establishment know as Cavallo. I know they had a Daughter Violet (Logston) Payne who died in December 1954. She was my great grandmother. I am not sure if Violet had any siblings. Also I can not determine what Pearl's maiden name was and what Alva's father's name was. I am not sure if these Logstons are also related to the Logsdons.

Other Logston's I found burried at the Tiverton Cemetery were (I'm not sure if I am related to these but I thought it may increase the chance of someone getting back to me):

John W. Logston b. Feb. 5, 1859 d Feb 2, 1932
They were the married in 1905 and were the parents of Lohman and James.

William L. Logston - b. 1885 d. 1968

Nora L. b. 1908 d. 1938
James W. Logston b Oct. 8, 1906 d. July 21, 1972
They were married Nov. 12, 1927.

Lohman S. Logston "Toots"
b. Aug 9, 1908
d. May 30, 1994

Any info about any of these or any other Logston's from Coshocton, Knox, and Holmes county OH would be greatly appreciated.

My granddad William Murry Logston wife(Mary Ann-Lucy Mooreland) came to Mo. about 1915/. Granddad was born 2-5-1877 and died 1-15-67. He had a son(Charles Logsdon) By his first wife. He had two brothers,Tom.and Bob and one sisterJanie(logston) Hinsley that live around Albany,Ky she had 3 boys thagt lilve around albany that own a garage and one girl

Hi,Jim I, am the granddaughter of Williams son by his first marriage.His name was Charlie Logsdon.Notice the spelling, I have been looking for 3 yrs, but I did`nt think about the names being spelled differant.I have talked to Helen and Estel and to Louise and Paul.What I realy need to know is who was William,s father.I will be going back to Albany and Burksville in a couple months,maybe I can find out some info about the people you spoke of. I am also looking for my grandmothers family,Logston. Her name was minnie and I know she had a brother named Bert in Claremore Ok. She was born in Ark. and supposedly lived on the osage indian reservation in Claremore. She married Charles Backherms and lived in New Albany, Indiana and Louisville Ky. They had 6 childern. I don't have much more info than this, but any that you have maybe helpful.

Could the Sarah that you listed as one of the children be Sarah Ellen? I have a Sarah Ellen Logston as the wife of my son's GGGgrandfather, John Harris, but had no information so far on her side of the family. She would have been born around the 1850's.

as far as i can tell this is my g-g-g-great grandfather. he was born in indiana in 1831 and died in davis co MO in 1870. he was married to a dernesa fields. i only have the name of one of their children which is mary ellen who married a man with the last name of danner and only the name of one of their children which is berenica estela who married a man by the last name of stark who had my grandmother charlotta mary who married burton smith. anyone out there with some information?
