Arkansas, or Rachel Longacre b. about 1800 in Abington, VA. married Goodson McDaniel in 1844 in Marion Co. Tn and d. about 1862 in Marion Co.

Errors on the parentage of Anders Petersson Longacre (1657-1718) of New Sweden

I've noticed that many places on the web list Anders parents as Peter Mansson Lom and Helena Svensdotter.
I don't know how these people are so confused that they have made Anders parents his wife Magdalena Petersdotter Koch (Cock)'s maternal uncle and his wife.

Anders parents were Peter Andersson and Gunnila _____. Peter Andersson was born circa 1620 in Sweden son of Anders Olsson;
came to New Sweden in the Fall 1639 on "Kalmar Nyckel", returned to Sweden, married and returned to New Sweden with his wife Gunnila on the "Mercurius", landing at Fort Christina ( later New Castle, New Castle Co., Del.) 13 Mar. 1656, settling in Kingsessing , New Sweden in present day S. Phil. Their only know child is Anders b. 1657 . Anders adopted the name Langaker (Longacre) by 1684; possibly based on the surname of his wife's English brother-in-law Robert Longshore
Peter died prob. 1678. His widow Gunnila remar. Henry Jones, a Welsh hatter who d. in 1683.

I have a list of eight children for this Clarence William Longacre, there is a Jr. Almost no info on any of the children.
Clarence William Longacre (Sr?) was born in Oklahoma and died in Northern California in 1953.

Francis Walker Longacre, married to Esther Pritchard was the son of my grandfather's cousin, William Ireson Streak, known to us as Uncle Streak.
He was not an Indian. Some of the relatives lived in Montana and were fluent in Crow.
Walker died here in Stockton. I’m not sure where he’s buried. I assume it is by Uncle Streak, but I really never looked for him.
I also have one photo of him with his brother Jess in 1911.

I just wanted someone to know that during my weekend travels I stopped at a roadside 'antiques' shop in Bucks Co. and saw a Fraktur (German handpainted birth/baptismal record) for a JACOB LONGACRE. The middle initial was hard to make out.....maybe a "G" or a "C". I didn't have my glasses so could not tell if it was a birth record or a marriage record. I do my own family genealogy, so I realize how important it is to reconnect these 'lost' items with their family.

I left the shop without a business card, but I know exactly where they are located (on River Road, Route 32) near Tinicum, PA and could probably find their phone number quite easily.

Please write if you are interested. No charges involved on my part......just an act of genealogical kindness.

My husband's mother is a Longacre who was born in Marion Co. OH. Her parents were Edward Eugene Longacre (b. 1896) and Maud Cain. Edward's parents were George E. Longacre (b. 1862) and Lola L. Osborn. George's parents were Daniel and Eliza Longacre. Is this the same family?

Margaret Longacre (1789), dau. of Joseph (1738), son of Andrew (1716)

Looking for information on Margaret Longacre. Everyone seems to have her parents and grandparents, but nothing on her. She was b. ca. 1789, d. after 1864. Married ca. 1805 in Frederick Co., VA to George W. Lind Jr. (1779-1860) and they had at least two children, Charles and Mary Ann. ("Frederick County Marriages, 1738-1850, by Vogt and Kethley, Jr., Page 357, lists George as the son of George, so I have both George Lind Sr. and Jr. accounted for there.)

George Lind Sr. came to the Colonies at the age of 16 as in indentured servant, but obtained his freedom and moved to the Shenandoah area of VA. By 1812, he had moved on to OH, with a land grant from service with the Virginia Militia during the Revolution ("Virginians in the Revolution and War of 1812")

Aycock Cemetery Erath Co-John W. Longacre

We found the entrance to the property where the Aycock Cemetery is located. It isn't a very hospitable looking place. The entrance is a private road.

A few months ago an email contact of mine (from Erath Co.) drove over there with her husband. They drove onto the private road (entrance to the property) but soon turned around because of a fear of being shot.

From what I can tell the last person buried in this cemetery was buried in the 1920s. The last time anyone looked at it may have been when the cemetery transcriptions book was assembled in the 1970s.

I would like to go to this cemetery and take pictures as I have some relatives buried there (John W. Longacre and some of his children). Does anyone know of anyone who has visited this cemetery recently?

We were able to locate the book thorugh a college in Pennsylvania through an inter-library loan. Sorry, I don't recall the name of the college. I am helpiing a neighbor who did the loan request. I have not actually seen the book myself. If my memory serves me it was a college in southeastern Pennsylvania, Possibly in Lancaster county where may Longenecker's were and are living.

I have ancestors married by Rev. Andrew Longacre (marriage witnessed by his wife Annie Longacre) in NYC in Nov. 1870. I can find lots of info on his Paris visit, the many marriages he performed,and the many sermons he preached but want to find out which Methodist Episcopal Church he was minister of in NYC in 1870? (It was not Trinity on 34 Street).His residence was on Seventh Avenue. He had a daughter named Lily, a famous nephew also named Andrew who was also a Methodist minister and eventually went back to Philadelphia.

I have records of a Joseph Decatur Longacre born February 26, 1820 in Roane County, TN and died January 6, 1902 in Johnson County, MO.

He married on April 22, 1841 Mary Jane Paul in Johnson County, Missouri.

He and Mary are buried together in Bluff Springs cemetery, Kingsville, Johnson County, MO.

I do not have documentation for any of that information.

there is a reproduction of the 1870 Mo census which lists many of the above names and the dates appear to be correct.

There is a Thomas Longacre listed, age 24, with his wife Lucinda.

I am not directly related to the Longacres. Ann Elizabeth Longacre was the first wife of my great great grandfather, Frank Soule. I am descended from Frank's second wife, but I was interested in the Longacre connection.

A relative of mine was recently looking through his grandmother's autograph book. There was an entry for "Lee Longacre." The autograph book belonged to Bertha Peet who lived in the Mountain Park OK area. We are trying to find Longacres who lived in the Kiowa County area to see if they are related to us. Upon a second reading, I realized the prior message did not make sense. What I am trying to say is the John Longacre who married Sarah Holmes is not the same person who married Jane Ireson and that there is no Jane Iverson. My reasoning is the fact that both Jane Ireson and Jane Iverson were married on the same day. There were no Iversons in Washington Co in 1800 or 1810. There were Iresons there then and they had a daughter named Jane and their daughter Judith married Thomas Longacre son of John and Ann Carter.

If anyone has information to the contrary I would love to hear it.

I am trying to findout is John Longacre and Sarah Holmes had a son.

The marriage that took place in Washington Co. Virginia on January 21, 1808, was between John Longacre son of John Longacre and Ann Carter.

Jane Ireson and Jane Iverson are the same person

The John Longacre who married Sarah Holmes and is the son of Joseph Longacre and Elizabeth Watson is not the same John Longacre who married Jane Ireson.

John Longacre and Emma Meek

Does anyone have any knowledge about where there are descendents of John Longacre and Emma Meek? I tracked them down to Kansas City, Missouri in the 1930 census and have found no more info.

I recently came in contact with a relative of Emma Meek and she said that their family lore also tracked them to Kansas City, Missouri.

John Longacre is the son of John W. Longacre and Louhamie H. Caraway. I thought his name was John Calhoun Longacre but the census records list him as John J Longacre. He may have been born in Erath Co., TX in 1872.

John and Emma were married in Erath Co., TX. In the 1920 census John and Emma had 4 daughters.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am searching for more information on a PA Longacre line.
A Longacre (name unknown) married Christiana Annie Kline about 1871. He passed away prior to 1900 but had a child
Harry J Longacre b. Sept 1871 probably in Reading Berks County. Harry was a cigar maker and married Lenora Nelson about 1896. they had one child William N Longacre about June 1895. William lived mostly in Reading PA working with Pianos. He married Francis (last name unknown) about 1924-1928 and had a daughter Margaret born 1927.

I am associated twice to this family. I descended from Miriam from Kline side (married to a Longacre) and Miriam married Emile Gerard (a boarder with William Longacre).

I'm trying to trace my family tree, but I hit a wall going back more than 2 generations. My Grandfather, Joseph James was born in Pallacious, TX in 1909. He had three brothers, Roy, Ralph, and Leonard, and four sisters one of whom(Olive) is still living. Roy might still be alive in the WA area. My grandfather and his siblings are the children of Lewis Roy Longacre and Ada Longacre (Fairweather). Lewis Roy has two brothers Frank, and I think the other one's name might be David. Can anybody supply some additional information? This family migrated from PA to OH, then to TX then finaly to MT.
