Nota Bene

As for ancestor Andre Lonquetin born about 1627 in Paris, France, this could be debatable for a lot of reasons because I have found a Jean Longtin married on Nov 17, 1669 in Létricourt, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France with Marie Joly. Remember that it was spelled "Longtin" and our Andre was spelled "Lonquetin" in Paris... I believe that the priest in Paris wrote "Longtin phonetically as Lonquetin".

Then in my quest for our roots, I found a lot of Longtain in Belgium with a few exceptions such as " Joseph-Alexis-Honoré Longtin " which was a city councilor in the Brussels borough of Jette during the mid 1880's to early mid 1890's. There is a " rue Honoré-Longtin straat/street " in the Jette borough of Brussels. In many parts of Belgium, it seems they added the "a" in "Longtin" .

I have found a place named "lieu-dit Longtin" or the "place so-called Longtin" between Breuvanne & Rossignol, now part of the municipality of Tintigny in the Luxemburg Province of Belgium. That province was part of the Duchy of Luxemburg until 1839. The Breuvanne village dates from the Gallo-Roman period. The Longtin surname has germanic roots.

That was a part of some historical facts from our European ancestry...

As of today, our Andre Lonquetin ancestor has 4,281 descendants across North America which are in my database, there are maybe a thousand more to come and find.
