Re: THOMAS LONIE, b.1819, England

I do not know if we corresponded on this family before -- but I am researching this family. Thomas Lonie born 1819 in Ceres, Fife, Scotland. I descend from his sister, Barbara Lonie who married Sardis Northrup and resided Winona Co. MN. Some of your Thomas' children went to live with my Barbara Lonie Northrup after the death of his first wife. I have traced some of their other children of John Lonie and Catherine Gourley:

1. David, born 1818, died 1818 Ceres at age of 5 months.
2. Thomas (your line)
3. James born 1823, married Margaret Ferguson and died 1857, New Lisbon, Juneau Co., WI; drowning in Lemonweir River.
4. Margaret, born 1826, died 1827 Ceres from measles
5. Mary, born 1828, married Robert Elliott. She died between 1855 and 1860 in Jefferson Co., WI.
6. Barbara Lonie (my line) married Sardis Northrup

The father, John Lonie (born 1796) remarried between 1840 and 1845 to Margaret Rutherford Elliot. John died in 1848 in Lake Mills, Jefferson Co., WI.
