Does anyone have any information on this person. I have a Texas Death Certificate that shows her and J.H. Shelby as parents of John Thomas Thomas Shelby who was born [according to Texas birth records] in Matagorda County, Texas. Birth date corresponds with Death date on death certificate of 27 Aug 1936. The death of John Thomas Shelby occured on 5 Dec 1949. It shows he died of an accidental gunshot wound in Boling, Wharton County, Texas. Shows a burial place of Cedarvale Cemetery, Bay City, Texas.
I am a Shelby researcher and I am trying to figure out who the mother is.
Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.
June Barker

I am trying to find information confirming the existence/ birth of Theodore LOHSE (LOOSE) in 1890 in Wisconsin. His parents were Frederick LOOSE and Augusta ECK. Supposedly born in Rantoul, Calumet Co. Wisconsin.

There are all sorts of "family stories" about this elusive ancestor, but I can not find any documentation of his existence. Supposedly married Esther SCHWANKE and at some time (WW1?) was a member of the Canadian military.

MUELLER, LOOSE from Goslar-Harz Region, Germany

This is really going to be a shot in the dark. My great great grandfather, Johann Heinrich Christian Mueller, b. April 28, 1847, Astfeld - Harz, Germany, married July 13, 1868, St. Stephens Church, Goslar, Harz, Germany, to Johanna Friederike Louise Pabst, b. December 31, 1840, Zellerfeld - Harz, Germany, had at least three daughters, Henrietta, Johanna, and Louisa. In 1892, Johann and his youngest daughter came to the USA, settling in Pittsburgh, Alleghany Co., PA, and as far as I know, the rest of the family stayed behind in Germany. In his obituary, his daughter, Henrietta is listed as Henrietta Loose. There was no mention of her husband's name. Does anyone have Loose ancestors in this area, or possibly have a Henrietta?

Thanks.

Just giving everyone a heads up. I told my parents about this site, and I fully expect that they will take full advantage of the opportunity...You have been warned...

As a teaser...this poster's family came over on the Ship Edinburg in 1753, landing in Philadelphia on September 14th. Capt. James Russell was the one at the wheel. The ship was from Rotterdam, via Portsmouth, with 352 passengers aboard. (See Strassburger, v 1, pp 521, 524 and Rupp, p 302.)

Everyone have a nice New Year...
