Carl L. Lorber, 82, of Springfield died Thursday at his residence.
He was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Springfield, the son of John and Anna Schindler Lorber. He married Mary O'Brien in 1940.
Mr. Lorber was a salesman for Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. for 35 years. He also worked for Kelly Brothers Grocery Store for several years after retiring.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Men's Club.
Survivors: wife, Mary; a son, Carl L. Lorber Jr. of Charleston; two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary Ann) Nemecek of Springfield and Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Speck of Peoria; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, John Lorber of Indiana; a sister, Sister Mary Pacifica, OSF, of Rock Island; two nephews; and several cousins. Memorial Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Rev. John Eck, CSV, officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
