I am very interested in hearing from you! My husband's brother-in-law, John Lorber (born John Ochs in Aberdeen, Brown County, SD) was raised by Louis Lorber and his wife. We have copies of John's birth certificate & baptism certificate. The birth certificate was issued in 1941, and documents certifying that this is correct information are signed by Mrs Louis Lorber and Anton J Ochs. We also have a copy of a letter from Mrs Lorber to her son John dated Jan 1941 stating that he had come to live with them when he was 6 years old as his mother had died; his father died shortly thereafter and John remained with the Lorber family and at some point in time began using the Lorber name.
I have information on John's descendants; but not a lot on his ancestors, so would appreciate any information and/or photos you would be willing to share with us. I will be glad to share what little info I have on the Lorber family with you if you want it. Just let me know.
Look forward to hearing from you. And a million thanks in advance.
