Im looking for info on Karl(Carl?)Lorber. He was born in germany abt 1846,and died in Hurly, Wisconsin June 20,1918 (gravesite unknown).
Karl was the son of August Lorber and Eva Boehme. He was married to Amanda Kelz.
Info on any of these people would be welcome.

Carl L. Lorber, 82, of Springfield died Thursday at his residence.
He was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Springfield, the son of John and Anna Schindler Lorber. He married Mary O'Brien in 1940.
Mr. Lorber was a salesman for Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. for 35 years. He also worked for Kelly Brothers Grocery Store for several years after retiring.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Men's Club.
Survivors: wife, Mary; a son, Carl L. Lorber Jr. of Charleston; two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary Ann) Nemecek of Springfield and Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Speck of Peoria; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, John Lorber of Indiana; a sister, Sister Mary Pacifica, OSF, of Rock Island; two nephews; and several cousins. Memorial Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Rev. John Eck, CSV, officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leonard A. Lorber, the son of Joseph Alphonsus and Laura (William) Lorber, was born January 3, 1917. He was baptized on March 25, 1917. Leonard graduated from Oran High School in 1934 and attended Wartburg College.
Leonard was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 12, 1940 by Rev. H. J. Heilmann and was married to Roberta Lenius on June 12,1940, by Rev. Hellmann at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fairbank. To this union they were blessed with four sons, Roger, Robert, William, and David.

Leonard served in the army during World War 11. Leonard was a lifelong Oran resident and had been a contractor for 59 years. He owned Lorber construction, was also the Oran Township Assessor and Oran Fire Chief for many years. He had formerly been a Boy Scout Leader and served on the County Boy Scout Board and he was also a member of the Fairbank American Legion Post #552. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of Wapsie Valley Athletics. Leonard was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served in various church offices. He currently was serving on the Board of Elders.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Roberta and four sons, Roger (Mary) of Cedar Falls, IA; Robert (Lisa) of Oran, IA; Bill (Sally) of Cincinnati, OH; and David (Denise) of Detroit, MI, a brother George Lorber of Charles City, IA, two sisters: Margaret Thomas of Rogers, AR, and Irene Berkowitz of Sacremento, CA. and 11 Grandchildren.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Leona Mathiesen and two infant sisters.

On January 13th , 2001 at the age of 84, after a sudden illness, Leonard was called to his eternal rest at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

Funeral services were at Saint John's Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 17th.
He was buried at Fairbank Cemetery. Graveside military rites were by the Fairbank American Legion Fortsch-Duffy Post 552.

She later was a housewife and also worked as a news commentator for NBC. She had interviewed president John F. Kennedy.
Ms. Lorber moved to St. Maries in 1964 and worked for KOFE Radio, the St. Maries Crisis Line and the St. Maries Gazette Record.
Survivors include a son, Edward Lorber of St. Maries; a daughter, Melissa Ann; and three grandchildren.

Obituary: CHARLES LORBER, 72, of Paramus died Saturday. Before retiring seven years ago, he was an electrical contractor and owned Charles Lorber Inc., Paramus, for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a past president of the Board of Health and the Democratic Club, a founding member of the Jewish Community Center, and a chapter chairman of the American Heart Association, all in Paramus. William Lorber Jr., 79, of Harbor Court, died Jan. 20, 2000, in Maryview Medical Center.
A native of Portsmouth, he was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church, a retired welding engineer for NNSY, a member of the American Welding Society and an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Lorber is survived by his wife, Geraldine Smith Lorber; two daughters, Nancy Shipp and her husband, Shep, of Chesapeake and Sherrie Balady and her husband, Mark, of Las Vegas; two sons, William Lorber III of Hampton and Rick Lorber and his wife, Lee, of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren, Brandy Shipp, Leslie and Wesley Lorber, William Lorber IV, Kenny, Jared, Bethany and Hannah Grace Balady; a brother, Jack Lorber and his wife, Blanche, of Suffolk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Raymond H. Edmonds Jr., the Rev. W. Dabney Walters and the Rev. Waverly C.
Smith III in Monumental United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Loving Funeral Home and suggest that memorial donations be made to the Monumental United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
