I don't have any proof, but there seems to be a general consensus among a lot of researchers. My ggg grandmother, I believe, was Araminthia due to the fact that a shortened version of her name (Arminta) was handed down in the family. In the 1850 AL census she is listed as Nancy, which I always assumed was a mis-understanding of Renchy by the census taker. Flimsy evidence, but I haven't found any reason to doubt it.

They moved to LA sometime between 1850 and 1860. She and Thomas are buried in Grove Hill cemetery in Desoto Parish, LA. I have copies of his land patents from AL and LA.

Mathias Lord (Thyas) lived in Athens, Georgia, until after 1830, long after Thomas Lord was listed on the census in Alabama. I am pretty sure this is the one married in Athens in 1813. He lived between Reason Whitehead and Richard Whitehead.

I have a question about Renchy Whitehead. Why does everyone assume Araminthia and Renchy are the same person? Is there some proof? Just curious.

This child was buried at Maple Grove cemetery in Ravenna Ohio on 8/17/1968, she was 5 yrs and 6mths old. her mother was Isabella ( WALKER ) LORD.. father's name unknown at this time. this would mean Hattie was born around Feb 1863. I have 2 or 3 sets of Lords....some in radcliffe/Whitefield and and some from Farnworth Kersley area....
Mary Shard married Samuel Lord, they had children then Mary died and Samuel re-married ....I think!
The children were shipped out to other family members, could you give me more info as to who his parents/grand parents were pls....then maybe i could have a look for you.

I have extensive info on the Lords of Radcliffe Kearsley and Ringley which I would be happy to share. I havent got any of your Christian names on any of my trees. Our names were James watkin Samuel John Richard Ann Mary betty Alice Thomas and were passed on through generations.

Do your Lords have any connection with the Farnworth Lords? My grandfather lived in Hall Lane as a young boy, around the end of the 19th century. He was Frederick Lord and he worked for the Bleacher's Association, down in the valley of the Croal (or is it the Irwell by then?), just below Hall Lane.

He lived in Starcliffe St at Moses Gate for many years, upto the early 1960's.

I have a Watkin Lord born 1792 married to Betty Gorton in 1810. Their children were Matty,James, Ann,Thomas,Watkin,Samuel,John,Peter. Watkins Parents were James Lord b1747 and Cicely Walker B 1751 m1771. I have details of their children Watkin,s siblings. My third great grandmother, Molly Mary Lord, lived in Epping New Hampshire with her husband Joshua Purington. Can't find her connection to other Lords although there was a Mary Lord in East Haddam d. Samuel and Mary with the right birth year, 1752. My Mary Lord had children, died in 1835, and was buried in Epping. She was referred to as Molly in her husbands will. I would really appreciate any info anyone might have on my Molly Mary Lord and/or whether the East Haddam Mary Lord may be her or was married to someone else. Thanks very much for any help, Sue P.

I am searching for the Lord line that intersects with my Lansing Line. Clara Lord (b 13 Apr 1889 in England, d 6 Dec 1931 in New York Mills, Oneida, NY, USA) was married to my Gr Grandfather Howard Lansing.

Clara came to America with her mother, Jane Wilkinson on Apr 16, 1896. Her father, Thomas Lord (b 1 Aug 1862 Royton, Lancashire, England, d 9 Feb 1922 in Utica, Oneida, NY, USA) had traveled to America Nov 23, 1895, settled in Utica, Oneida, NY, USA and then sent for his wife and children.

The only info I have in regard to the Lord line is a potential father to Thomas. I think that his name is Edmund and he was married to a Martha (no surname, yet). I have no birth, death or marriage info for Edmund or Martha. Looking for anyone that can help out with this line.

James emigrated to Canada in 1906 with wife Emily and daughter Grace and settled in Brockville. James Arthur was born in 1908.

James Arthur married Beatrice ? but died in 1941.

Hi I'm looking for info on my Great-Granfather Walter B Lord. Currently I have very little info regarding him. According to the info on my Grandmother's 1920 census he was born in Maine. He married my Great-Grandmother(Rose Alvera Skoglund) sometime before 1910 and they divorced sometime between 1913 and 1920. They had two children, Walter B Lord Jr(1910) and Rose Alvera Lord(1913). My Great-Grandmother lived in Middlesex, Massachusetts so I'm assuming he did as well for some amount of time.

Thomas Cyrus Lord was Born Feb 7, 1882. Thomas Cyrus Lord's parents are unknown, His siblings (if any) are unknown. In his mid 20's he married Ruth V. Williams. They had 3 children: Gertrude born in November 5, 1913, Thomas Hugh Lord born 1916(Later killed in the Battle of the Bulge and buried in Vicksburg National Cemetery) and their 3rd and last child was Mary Ruth Lord born 1918. A 1920 census states that Thomas Hugh Lord's parents were both supposedly also from Mississippi. He died about 1924 plus or minus a year maybe 2yrs. I would appreciate ANY leads. He lived in Claiborne County, Mississippi around Hermanville and Port Gibson and is buried with his wife Ruth (she died just about 5 years after he died and they are buried beside one another. I do know that much, but I do not know which cemetery around Hermanville that they are buried. He is my Great Grandfather and I would love to know more of him and his family. I know his birth date is in Feb 7,1882, and so far I don't even know when he married Ruth, but does anyone know who are his parents? Grandparents? Did he have siblings? Etc, I have been running into a brick wall for many years now. About the only leads I can find are a WWI draft registration card, that his occupation was or about Farming and that he had Light hair and blue eyes. He was only about 44-45 years when he died of "consumption" aka TB. Thanks

Looking for ANY info on Thomas Cyrus Lord born Feb 1882 in Mississippi. He lived in and around Claiborne County, Hermanville and Port Gibson to be exact.

I don't know his siblings or parents. can someone help me? I have been searching for this info for several years.

I DO KNOW that a James Austin Lord ALSO lived in Hermanville at the same exact time. I think they are brothers or 1st cousins which could be a help.

Thomas Cyrus Lord died about 1924 give or take a year. He Married a RUTH V. WILLIAMS and together they had 3 children, Gertrude Elizabeth, Thomas Hugh and Mary Ruth.

Again does ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING? I can find him in WW1 registration, and some census records but only for a certain period yet before and after NOTHING. I KNOW he lived as he is my great grandfather. Thank you to anyone who may can assist me. I am going nuts trying to find out who his parents are!

BETTENDORF - Elwood E. "Bud" Lord, 71, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at his home.
Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport.

Memorials may be made to the St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf. McGinnis, Chambers & Sass Funeral Home in Bettendorf is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Muscatine, the son of Buel and Veda M. Kulp Lord. He married Betty Mae Evans on Dec. 25, 1952, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on May 11, 1997. He served in the U. S. Army Air-Corps following World War II. He was employed as a meat cutter for Oscar Mayer Foods Corp. of Davenport, retiring in 1981 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and ball games. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather whose life revolved around the love of his family.
Survivors include three daughters, Denise McCoy and her husband, Mike, of Davenport, Debora Reed and her husband, Daniel, and Diana Danielson and her husband, Jeff, all of Eldridge; his son, Michael Lord of Davenport; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Erica, Elizabeth, Eric, Benjamin, and Christopher; his sisters, Virginia Estabrook of Muscatine and Donna Lewis of Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a granddaughter, Claire Nadine Danielson on June 2, 1997.

I am interested in information on James Lord b1813 in Chadderton & his wife Mary Albinson b1803, who were involved in handloom silk weaving.The 1851 census shows them living in Hopwood, Middleton, Lancs and I think they married in 1835. I am aware there are other Lord families in the Middleton & Chadderton areas, who were also handloom silk weavers & wonder if anyone else is researching Lord families particularly in Chadderton, to work out how they are all related?

Your Guncle George lord, did he have a brother named Herbert L. Lord, married to a Saphorina Burnham? I an find loads of info on the Burnham side, but banging my head againt a wall for the Lord side. My Herbert Lord settled Michigan but was from New York. Any ideas at all?

How ironic! I am looking on info for Emma M (maiden name unknown) Lord. She married George Herbert Lord and had my ggrandmother, Irene Lord (later Seybert). All this takes place in Michigan, but the family lore says Emma's father was full blooded Chippewa registered and french-Canadian. I just thought it was strange that there is another Lord in the same posistion! Let me know if you get any info, I'd love to know what you find out!
