Hello!
My name is Leah Lorenz and I am researching the Lorenzi-Collinag family of Mortaso Italy.
My husband's grandfather, Lougi Geraldo Lorenzi-Collinag, was born May 2, 1892 in Mortaso, Trento Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1912 and became a citizen in 1922. Upon naturalization, he changed his name to Louis Lorenz. He passed away in 1967 in Spokane, WA.
Louis had atleast one brother who also came to America, Angelo Silvio Lorenzi-Collinag, born March 14 1886 also in Mortaso. He changed his name to Silvio Lorenz and died in 1957 in Salt Lake City, UT.
I am still learning how to read Italian so the research goes quite slowly, but according to parish records, Louis had atleast one sister and possible another brother and sister. I do have access to the films and will eventually get all that sorted out.
I am hoping to establish contact with other Lorenzi/Lorenz family members both here in the USA and also in Italy. My father-in-law pretty much lost contact with his USA relatives when Louis passed away and never met any of his relatives in Italy. Please post a message if you are interested in this Family tree.
Thank you
Leah Lorenz
