I am trying to find out information on ancestors of New England from Canada/France. I know that they came from the Quebec region and moved south to the states. Into Vermont first in the Rutland area then to the Bennington area. From there they split to go to NH, MA, CT, and NY. My great-grandmother, Josephine Maillard (records say Myers but older NY records (Amenia) show the family name as Maillard. Her mother was Genevieve Pope from Brooklyn/France. I would welcome any information on Lorette, Lirett, Hilerest.
