Hi Faye,
I was thrilled to get your message re my Grandmother's brother Thomas Charles Lower. I had some contact with the lower family in Ballarat in the 1960's but lost contact and have been unable to reconnect ever since. I imagine that my contact back then has moved to another area. I believe it was Tom's daughter that I communicated with. Do you know the name of his daughter that has moved to Queensland??
I found a cousin in Vermont,USA a few years ago via the internet. She is a Granddaughter of my Grandmother(Ethel Lower). Ethel had an illegitimet son before she married my grandfather, and the cousin in Vermont is a daughter of that son!! Small world isn't it??
Hope to hear from you soon.
Sandra Swan

Hello Richard-
I have traced my Lower family back to Conrad Lower in the NY, born about 1743. Conrad and his wife, Anna Failing, had at least 13 children (just found another one). His son Richard (1774 to about 1855) was one of my ancestors. Richard and wife Rachel and several family members moved from NY to Wisconsin around 1848. From there the family spread out. Each of the generations had very large families. Perhaps you are one of ours.

Write to me at llower@aol.com and lets compare notes.
Linda Lower

My Lower ancestors moved from the Palatine area of NY to Onondaga County around 1795 so there certainly could have been a Jane Lower. I don't have a Jane living during that approx. time period in my database. However, the families were very large and although I have tracked my ancestors to 1750 I haven't identified all of the children of all of the siblings.

Certainly seems likely that our families at least knew each other. Sorry I can't help.

Martha Ann Lower and John Williams, Tuscarawas Co., Ohio

There is a marriage record in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, for Martha A. Lower to John Williams. I cannot find a clue to this couple. An LDS submission says Martha Ann was born ca 1835 and John was born ca 1831 so apparently someone identified them at one time but that's all the record says. I don't know if this is who I am looking for but would like to check them out. The John Williams I'm looking for was in the household of John and Eliza Hall on the 1850 Tuscarawas Co. census and I don't know what happened to him afterwards so wanted to find John and Martha to see if he might be the same John. Looking for a John and/or Martha Williams is like a needle in a haystack. The Lower researchers of Tuscarawas County (that I've been able to find) do not mention Martha Ann. Does anyone know anything about John and Martha Ann (Lower) Williams?
I don't know Margaret Lower's siblings but I've come across your postings and have also thought they might be sisters. Given that both name their 2nd. son George I think George b. 1782 d. 8 May 1859 -where ?, s/o Adam and Elizabeth (Keiser) Lower is a likely prospect for their father. George was living in Williamsburg, Huntingdon Co. (after 1846 Blair Co.) when his father made is will 27th. Apr. 1833. Possibly there is a wil or estate account for him in Blair Co. which might help us.
Steve
