Descendents of Thomas and Mary Lowry

Hi, I'm looking for descendents of Thomas Lowry and Mary Lowry (Maiden) who arrived in Boston in, I beleive, 1740. They lived in Philadelphia for awhile and settled in Connecticut where they are buried. I have two questions. First, if you are a descendent, have you had a DNA test and are the results in the DNA database on Ancestry? Second, I know there is a family association for descendents of Thomas and Mary but I can't find a web site. Does anyone have contact information for this group? Thanks.

Hi. I am very new to this, however, I see mention of my relatives and have old photos along with knowledge of family burial sites in Tennessee. My great-great grandmother is Magnolia Taylor Lowry, who passed 2 days after my 8th birthday. I remember her fairly well and her son, Randolph Taylor Lowry is my great grandfather who passed October 1990. My son, Adam Randolph is named after him. I have some old photos of Randolph, his sister and parents, as well, as some knowledge of family burial places. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in seeing them or if you have any info you would like to share with me regarding the Randolph or Lowry family from Warren County Tennessee.

Lowry families from Ireland to Simcoe County Ontario

I am trying to straighten out all of the branches of the Lowry families in Simcoe County Ontario. One branch headed by John lowry/Lowery and Martha/Mary Brown came from County Antrim. The other family, and the one I am researching, came from County Cavan Ireland. These families include:
Robert Lowry, married Elizabeth McGovern, son Charles, daughter Ann
George Lowry, married Ann Widdis
Jane/Elija Jane Lowery married William Strong
John Lowry married Eliza Pyle, had son John who married Catherine Hoey.
Other possible relatives: Ellen Lowry who married a Heaney
Their were several David Lowry's - one who was the son of Charles Lowry, who married Margaret Bassett and Sarah Tait; and one who was the son of John and Catherine. There was also a completely unrelated David Lowry who married Sarah McSherry. I would like to hear from anyone researching these families.

Do you have documented information about the Lowry family which connects to this Jerome Lowry? (wyates@montana.com)

"Died--At his home near Three Forks, Owyhee County, Idaho, July 1, Jerome Lowry, aged about 56 years. Deceased was a genial man, of fine attainments but quite eccentric, choosing to make his home a long distance from any neighbors, whicle at the same time was always social and made all welcome who visited him. He had been suffering from cancer of the stomach for many months and, anticipating the end, had his coffin made and sent to his home several weeks ago. He was a brother of ex-Governor Lowry of Mississippi, who became famous some years ago, through his war against prize fighting in that state".
Hi Greg. We have corresponded before, but we moved last year so may have a new email address.

One of mu husbands cousins told us that Robert was from Killyleagh, Ireland (County Down by some reports, its own county by others). It has also been reported he was born in Donegal, Ireland, so have more research to do.
In 2007 we visited Scotland and Ireland and I have been working on several reports related to the family.
Please email me at lowery29650@att.net so we can discuss more about Irish research.
LOWRY OLD PHOTOS/TEXT/DOCS PROJECT!!

Hello Fellow Genealogists!

I am trying to make a collection of Old LOWRY photos (with info, as well, to put the photos in "context") as a useful "reference" tool, for us all.

I am collecting/compiling and indexing, any Old LOWRY photos (up thru 1960- but prefer earliest possible) in JPEG/GIF formats (ONLY)-sent as attachment w/email to me -including as much info known about person(s) IN the photo(s) IN the BODY of that email's text (ie-the written message area of an email!!)--such as....

name/dates birth/death/marriage; from whom they descend (if known); whom they married, or names of children; what they did for livlihood,etc.,etc.

I will complete this project w/in the next 2 1/2-3months-and anyone who submits an image to me---will receive a compiled photo booklet and access to the LOWRY Family photo/info website, when it is completed.

Also jpeg/gif images of Documents/Text are welcome (as again, this adds "context" to the person in photo's life)--such as scanned b/m/d certificates;
military photos; typed pages of family history; sketches of family tree image;

and/or Gravesite HEADSTONE pix; scanned images of pension/military/ citizenship/medical records; yearbook photos; news clippings;or scans of family bible pages,excerpts from letters/diaries,etc.,etc.

Anything that adds to what is known about the person whose photo you are submitting! (NOTE: Please just NO CENSUS Images, though- (as Ancestry has all these already!!)-thanks!)

Please make the jpeg/gif no larger than about 7x9 inches, preferably around 5x7-ish--definitely No LARGER than 2MB (not quite 8 1/2 x 11 in. size!!)

I hope to make this a really helpful TOOL for all of us LOWRYs --(and any related lines you wish to submit--such as those we married-in "with" or of those of surnames that married "into" us!).

Thanks ever so much---Vienna George.....

Email me (w/ text info in body of same email to which is sent as attachment the jpeg (or gif) image) , to.....

Vienna_Loves_Genealogy@yahoo.com

Many thanks Cousins!!!---Vienna

NOTE: This is foe ALL LINES (& Spellings-as spelling not "set" til 1900s) of this Surname--due fact we may THINK we are NOT related-but go back further and find we come down from either the SAME patriarch or siblings----or two un-related lines intermarry--and then, of course from there on down they ARE related--and also from all originations as many families started out in one country--only to later be in another-but may be the same family after all!! (ie- PROJECT IS OPEN TO LOWREY, LOWRY,etc.)

Re: relation thomas francis lowry

Thomas Francis Lowry is in our extended family tree, and there are four of us who are actively working on this line. Please get in touch as we have the line back to the 1760-1780 time frame at this point, and would be very interested in sharing info and particularly, in finding out more about your knowledge that they came from Ireland to Philadelphia, as this is new "news!" We do know through DNA testing that they originally came from Scotland into Ireland, and then on to America, but have not found a link in the NE U.S. yet.
