From another post I found that your William Loyd, was son of William Loyd (Sr.) and Sarah Price who lived in Crawford County Arkansas (1840 census). William Sr. died in 1848 and widow Sarah Loyd then married Henry Coker as seen in the 1850 census. Then in 1860 the Cokers moved to Napa, Callifornia. I am trying to find the parenrs of Sarah Price Loyd Coker. Do you know of this?

Do you know who were the parents of Wm J Loyd? I've found my Wm H Loyd and know for certain that he is the son of James Lee Loyd and Nancy Brooks. Isn't one of your Williams' sons named Brooks? that's the name that had me wondering. Do you know for whom this son was named?

Dorothy

So very sorry I take so long to answer Dorthy. My information on William Jefferson Loyd, came from census records, newspaper reports & the Bedford Co. Library, from county & Church records. Also he had his own Household untill his death. He lost his arm in a carding machine accident. He was in his 70's & lived 3 days before passing away. His son Robert(Bob)E.Lee Loyd was my Dads Grandfather. As we are at this time doing a lot of remodling; My papers are not at hand right now to give you exact dates, but I do have them. Hope this helps.

One of my grandmother's sisters was named Sallie (Loyd) Boozer. I am seeking more information on this part of my family.

Sallie's siblings were Ella Loyd born October 1891, Walter Loyd, and Delia Loyd.

Sallie's parents were Henry Boozer and Rosenna. I do not have a last name for Rosenna. It may have been Johnson.

All of the above persons lived orignally in the Lexington/Columbia, SC area. Amost all relocated to Philadelphia by the 1930's.

Any information people may have on Sallie's family, I would greatly appreciated having. I have a picture of the three siblings together--Sallie, Walter and Ella.

Ella was my grandmother. She was married to Benjamin (Frank)Hill.

Phyllis,
I have been doing some more research and in the 1900 census there is a James L. Pelham after talking to a family friend I was informed that infact Solomon and Sallie were his parents, so I can only assume the census taker put James L instead of John L. The birth date and all the other info matches. I have also found out that the Jodie / Joseph I was looking for is in fact Solomons Nephew, born to Lucinda Studdard b:1862 Tennessee. Father: Unknown. Please email me back so we can discuss if i'm heading in the wrong direction.

James Loyd - Greene Co., TN Frederick/Berkeley Co., VA

1788: Berkeley Co., VA
Trying to find anyone researching these Loyds in Greene Co., TN.
Abel, James & Thomas. Lived by the Kennedys on Mill Creek. What is their relationship and where are they from??

James Loyd married Elizabeth Kennedy in Berkeley Co., VA/WVA
By 1792 a James Loyd has arrived in Greene Co., TN living near my John Kennedy Family. In 1796 William Kennedy m. Elizabeth Purcell, Sec. James Loyd. Also in 1796 a Thomas Simpson m. Catherine Kennedy, Sec. James Loyd. My ancestor Samuel Kennedy is the exec. of James Loyd wife Elizabeth will but does not serve.

William Kennedy and Samuel Kennedy go to Hancock Co. IN together in 1830 but WE have not been able to connect them "as family" in the family. Believe the connection my be in Berkeley/Frederick Co., VA
The Kennedys who settled in Washington Co., NC in 1778 are connected by DNA to Old Frederick Co., VA Kennedys and believe that they also have a connection with the Loyds of the area. Any help would be appriciated.
Thank you,
Jayne

Hey,
I am also looking for my great-grandfather, John Loyd. I am not really sure where he was born all I know he lived in Mississippi for the early years of his life. He disappeared about I don't know about 40 years ago. I have no information at all on him. I was wondering the man that you are looking for is he a black/chinese/native american/creole looking man. Because if he is that is the exact description of my great-grandfather. I don't know if any of this even makes sense but I just really want to know about my great-grandfather. Thanks for your time

I am researching William Loyd and Susan Lee Loyd. They had a son, Herbert Jackson Loyd, born 1849, and at least two daughters, Clara and Molly. Herbert had at least one brother but I do not know his name.Herbert had a son named Owen, so the name "Owen" might be a family name.
They came from Hardin County, Tennessee after the Civil War and settled first in the Tennessee Colony in Texas. Herbert lived later in Ft. Worth, then Coleman County, Texas, where he died in 1932.
Does anyone have information on William Loyd in Hardin County Tennessee before the end of the Civil War?

William and Blanche Loyd from Anderson Co. TN

My Great-grandparents names are William Loyd (Lloyd) and Blanche (Vann) Loyd. I have found their marriage record in 1903. I am aware that Blanche remarried some years later. I would like to find any information on where William Loyd came from, who his parents are, and when he died. Any information would be most greatly appreciated!! Thank-you!

Re: Loyd

My grandmother (Katie Starnes) lived in a mud hut in Indian Territory (or so she told me). She and my grandfather (Andy Loyd) married 52/5/1910 in Mangum Greer County, Oklahoma.Andy was 33 and Katie was 20. My father (Albert Lee Loyd) was born near Leonard, Texas in 1920. He had an older sister named (Mary) Ruth Loyd. I was born in Wichita Falls, Texas as was my sister. Katie had two or three brothers, named Oren and Truman. That is about all i know.
I appreciate your response.
Thanks, Connie
