Quite interesting, I have a great grandfather Zakhar Bloch (1877-1940) His father is Boris Bloch or Baruch Bloch.
They are originally from Vitebsk and had Zahkar had sister in Moscow.
since Zakhar married a russian woman, his family didn't want to be him a part of it, i wonder if he could change a last name... Labok-> Bloch/Block

I have just saw this chain of posts by chance.
My grandpa (born in 1899) was from Vitebsk and his name was Israel Labok (or Lobok). I know that he had brothers, Leib and Zahar, and sister Fanny. His father's name was Baruch (Berck). Maybe you have some information about this family?
I'm originally from Moscow and live in Israel for the last 25 years.

My relative is Tomzenea Lubbuck. Born 1809 in East Walton, Norfolk, England. I am looking for her parents.

Tomzenea married William Clarke b 1801. They married on 29th Oct 1830. Their son Joseph Edward Clarke b. 1850 is my great grandfather.

If anyone has any information on Tomzeneas parents, or siblings would be great.

I found a marriage on May 20 1839 in Houston, Harris, Texas for Christopher V UGLOW & [Mrs] Theresa M SMITH.

There was also an announcement in the local pager ~

MARRIAGE NOTICES from the HOUSTON MORNING STAR Newspaper, April, 1839-1844 -

MARRIED -- On Monday evening last, by the Rev. W. Y. Allen, Mr. Christopher V. UGLOW to Mrs. Theresa H. SMITH,
all of this city. May 22, 1839, pg. 3.

I have read elsewhere that when only a young child, Theodore's parents both died from Yellow Fever and this must have been the reason he was adopted by Francis Richard LUBBOCK & his wife Adele Frances BARON.

Mrs. Lubbock was a Barron, Adele Barron of New Orleans. She was from a French family. I don't know what the house looked like. I've seen a picture which I think is just an imaginative drawing. (More on website)

Have just started tracing my family tree and have a relative Jessie Lubbock who went to clacton-on sea and married Alfred Cattermole. Her father I believe was Benjamin Lubbock born in Mileham circa 1824. Benjamin had my gg grandmother in swaffham where she was christened Jane Sarah. I think it unlikely that that the Lubbocks and Lovicks are connected (ie a name change) as I have seen in the course of my research that there are a large number of Lovick's in Norwich. Do you know exactly when your Thomas was transported and at what age? Do you have any other information on him? I would be happy to keep an eye out for him whilst looking for Lubbocks in Norfolk.

I'll keep an eye out for him, however there are a large number of Lovicks in Norfolk. I take it you've looked at the IGI - there are a few 'candidates' there. Do his convict records give an age or place of residence or any other information? (Like what his crime was or whether he was single / married? Details of parents or anything like that?). Any snippet might help in tracking him down. I am planning a research trip in a couple of weeks, so I will see if I can find his convict records in the UK. Do you know the name of the ship he was transported on? Or the date of leaving the UK ?(Because the records are by ship rather than by date of conviction, unfortunately!).
I don't know if I'll be able to find anything for you, but I will try.

Clinton Henry Lubbock married Nellie Stuart Winans on 26 Mar 1891 at Columbia, Missouri. They had two sons - Clinton Harper and Winans Fowler. I believe Clinton died young, aged 19 ca 1912. He certainly never married. Winans married someone called Hildegard Beauregard Wittemore on 11 Apr 1921. They in turn had two sons - James Edward (b.1924) and Richard Selby (b.1931). The latter never married but James marred Charlotte Frances Ferguson on 24 Aug 1947. They had 3 children - Daniel Lawrason (b.1949), Brian Wade (b.1951) and Kathleen Harper (b.1953). All have since married but I have no record of children. However, they should all still be alive with any luck. I can tell you more about Clinton Henry's ancestry if you are interested.

I am interested in any information regarding C.H. Lubbock. The C. stands for either Clinton or Christon. He was born in Texas in October 1860. His parents were born in South Carolina - no names though. He married Nellie Winans. They were married in about 1891. They had two sons born while they were living in California (Clinton and Winans). By 1910, he had passed away and Nellie and the boys had moved to Missouri where her mother & step-father had been living. I am trying to locate any descendants from this family.

This is a bit of a long shot but I noticed back in 2001 you had a message about a Richard Lubbock from Norfolk, England. I have a Richard Lubbock in my tree and was wondering if there is a connection.
My Richard was born in 1828 Mileham/Milsham,Norfolk, England, married Jane Snasdell and had 4 children maybe more, Thomas, Susan, Sarah and Robert. If you think there might be a connection I would love to hear from you.

Henry Schultz Lubbock b.2 Apr 1823 in Charleston, SC-d. 1909 Alameda, CA. Married Mary C. ?. He was US Insp. of steam vessels. Children: Thomas Henry b.1842; James Curry b. 1847-1867 Married Mary Helen Lockart (his cousin)
Adele Lockart 1866-1913 (single- daughter of James and Mary Helen); O ? 1849; J. Warner (1851-4 Apr 1964); I ? 1854. Also Marion and Marjorie--no dates on these.

Who were your parents and do you haave anymore info on the above?

He was shipped on the Clyde Barque. Arriving in Hobart December 1830. He was transported for stealing a boat. There is a couple of reference numbers on his records that I coudn't find in Tassie, I suspect they may relate to English record as they relate to his description.
Registration number 568.
He is listed his home as Norwich. Sorry thats all I have.
Any help would be appreciated.

Would love for you to keep an eye out for any information on Thomas Lovick. He was tried in Norfolk 20 March 1830 and transported to Van Diemans Land. I've had no luck finding out any information. He appears to be quite a character married 3 times.
Glad you clarified the lack of link to the name, it has been a problem for me as there are a few Lubbocks here in Australia.

We have a large group of Lovick's in Australia. We often suspected that the name may have been changed due to our ancestor coming over on a convict ship. His name was Thomas Lovick(?) and I suspect he may have been born btw 1808-1810. His convict details list his birth place in Norwich Norfolk. If you have a missing Thomas I would appreciate any details.

I just happen to ran across this message checking the web against my last name, Labok just for testing purposes. I have never ever came across anyone sharing with me my last name either in Russia or US who were not my known relative. My family is originally from part of Russia which is now Balarus and I myself emigrated not long ago from Ukraine.

I don't know the exact spelling of her maiden name - her married name was Lipshitz and then she married a Rosenbloom after her divorce. Anything familiar?

Hi. I am trying to find information on my great grandmother, Fanny Lubach Lipshitz. I am having a tough time because several people have told me different spellings of her maiden name. Lubach was the first one I had, then Klubuck, then Glubach and I just don't know now! I was searching different spellings in the surname listing and came across this one, Lubbock. Anyway, Fanny came to America from Russia in the early 1900's. Her husband, Samuel Lipshitz, had arrived in NY in 1908. She divorced him and married someone else. I think her next married name was Rosenbloom. Does this ring any bells with you? Let me know!

I also have Rosenblooms from Borisov Minsk, who are connected to this Labok branch.
Decendents from these families emigrated to Paterson, New Jersey, Israel, Chicago, and more.

Well, Tanya, I don't recognize any of the first names, but I do have Rosenbloom, Labok/Labbock, and even Lipshitz on the branches of my tree.
There is a Sarah Labok (born circa 1880?)who married a Lipshitz. They had two daughters, Gilda Lipshitz (married Schiff?)in Florida, and Ruth Lipshitz (married Bernstein?)in Buffalo NY.

I can possibly help with some info. The Mileham LUBBOCKs descend from Benjamin LUBBOCK and Ann BLOOME who were married 25 Apr 1775 at Kelling. They are the earliest I have so far unearthed. Their son Richard seems to have begun the Mileham line. I can supply full details if required. What is your connection as I would like to join you to this branch of the family tree?

Daniel Gray Lubbock Jr (my husband)
Daniel Gray Lubbock Sr (his father)
John Bell Lubbock (his grandfather)
John Bell was the youngest brother of Francis Richard (the Gov).

Francis picture hangs in Austin at the Capitol. Don't know where you live.

I have enjoyed learning about all the Lubbocks and have much info on Anna & Robert's line.
Was your father Francis Allen Lockart? If so, I found you & your brother, but have no info on either. Perhaps I could send you info on what I have. I can go back to Richard Lubbock in Norfolk, Eng.
