Jeremiah Lucey, 79
Jeremiah "Jerry" Lucey, a longtime resident of Redlands, died of leukemia Sept. 5 at his home in Redlands. He was 79.
He was born Oct. 10, 1928, in County Cork, Ireland, and had lived in Redlands for more than 30 years.
He was a nurse for 33 years, at Patton State Hospital in Highland and at Agnews State Hospital in San Jose.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Redlands, where he sang in the choir.
Survivors include his sister Kathleen "Kit" Murphy of County Kerry, Ireland; his brother Padraig Lucey of County Cork, Ireland; his goddaughter Mary McCammon of Santa Rosa; and nieces and nephews in Ireland.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 115 W. Olive Ave., Redlands. Burial will be at Hillside Memorial Park. Cortner Chapel is handling arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church for the church's music program.
