I think the Mary Foster Luckie in your post is the daughter of Alexander Foster of Lancaster PA. My reasoning is that her sons and daughters bear many of the names of Mary's siblings.

Any info you have about Mary would be appreciated.

I am researching the Luckie families of Texas. I believe the William J. Luckie and Middleton Woods Luckie were maybe brothers. Middleton was born 1810 Georgia and died in 1870 in Waco Texas. He was married to a Disa Killough and Lavina Bailey White. I am just starting this Luckie line so could use help on the parents for Middleton Woods Luckie. Thank You, Debbie Reynolds House

Good to hear from you. My husbands grandmother was Missouri Ann Luckie, one of Levi's daughters. She married Andrew J. Freeman in McClennan County and they lived in Lampasses and Tuscola. She lived to be 99 and died in Abilene Texas. She raised my Mother-in-law, Rencie Freeman Smith.

I have heard from several decendants of William J. I would love to compare information with you when you get relocated.

Hello! My husband's family left Georgia 1838-9 and settled in Houson County Tx, from what I have been told. I have copies of census records showing the family. The father's name was Levi Luckie. His son was William J Luckie. I have been to William & wife Maggie's gravesites near Stevenville Tx.

We moved a couple of months ago after being in the same house 26yrs. I haven't find my family tree book yet. My address is 28978 N 70th Dr., Peoria, AZ 85383. Love to hear from you!

No - My father was Charles Carter Lucke and his father was Jo H. Luckie. I know my grandfather had a brother named Russell, but beyond that, I am don't really know much.

My maiden name is Luckie. I know my father's family several generations back were in Mexico Missouri. We have, however, for several generations been in Texas.

I can't be sure but my greatgrandfather moved to Texas as a child. He moved to Canadian Texas from where I can't say.(maybe waco). His name was Eugene Cornelious Luckie and married paradine Morris. He is buried in canadian Cem.

I found that same 1850 Bexar County census of William F. Luckie with a son Eugene, age 6. I'm looking for the parents of a Eugene M. Luckie, born 10-1843 in Georgia that married a Margaret (Maggie) C. Smith about 1873 in Texas. I'm hoping that he is the Eugene in the census but can't find any definate proof. Do you have any information on him?

I wonder how you got on with your search. My family come from near Crossmaglen so we may have descended from a branch of the same family. Michael, Mary, Patrick and Thomas are common names in our family, but may simply be popular in that part of Armagh (and everywhere else!).

Sarah Medora Luckie and William Quarles Lowe are my Great Grand Parents. My Dad is Thomas M. Lowe, Jr. His Dad Thomas M. Lowe Sr. was born in Marble Falls, Tx in 1897. Soon after his birth the family moved to TN (via Wagon of course). Sarah Medora's parent's are W.P. Luckie and Sarah Ann Smith. They lived outside of San Antonio and then move to the Smith Ranch in Burnet COunty.

I have just returned from Marble Falls seeking infomation on Sarah Smith. I think that she was born in Little Rock, Ak. I have much of the Ancestry worked out and would be happy to share information. Please feel free to email me.

Looking for siblings of my great-grandfather Michael Charles Luckey. The siblings are were all born in Crossmaglen, Armagh, Ireland. Entire family sailed to New Orleans in 1852 where parents Arthur & Elizabeth died in 1853 YF epidemic. Siblings put into orphanage (probably a Catholic one). Siblings are: Mary (b.1838), Patrick (b.1840), Owen (b.1847) & possibly, Thomas (b.1850). Luckie Family in Texas

I am interested in any information on a Luckie family who came to Texas in 1838 from Alabama. The father of the family had a father who came from Georgia.

The daughter of this family was Missouri Ann Luckie who came to Texas in 1838 when she was a baby with her family. They settled around the Waco area.
She was my husband's great grandmother.

Does anyone have any information on this Texas frontier bound Luckie family?

My great grandfather, William Foster Luckie, was born Burnet Co. TX, Nov 12, 1856. to W P Luckie & Sarah Ann Smith Luckie. He is likely a brother to Sarah Medora Luckie. W P and Sarah Ann are buried at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, near Marble Falls in Burnet Co. TX

Sue, I saw your old posting with the name of Mary Foster. I have a Mary Foster who married a "Luckie". Mary lived in Chester County, Pennsylvania where there were Luckie families. Mary was born sometime in the mid 1700's between 1735 and 1750 or so. Her father Is Alexander Foster (born abt 1710) and her brothers are William, John, and James. I am intrigued by the postings for a Wm Luckie who married a Mary Foster, and who had descendants with the name of William and Alexander. Alexander is an immigrant whose past is unknown. His son William was brilliant being a graduate of what is now Princeton. William read Latin, Greek, and Hebrew and became a Presbyterian minister. Do you know who your Mary Foster is, where she came from, and where your William Luckie's parents or other close relatives lived? Did he or his relatives live in Chester County?

While searching cemetery records I came across Jane Luckie, (died) March ye 10th aged 72" and "Mr Hugh Luckie died April ye 14 born Feb. 1713 aged seventy three years & two months".

These were notes written by Rev,. John Evans Finley of the Faggs Manor Church of Upper Octorara in Parkesburg, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. My interest is Mary Foster, born abt 1747 in Lancaster, a daughter of Alexander Foster, who according to family descendants married "a Lucky". Mary Foster and husband "Lucky" left Pennsylvania for either South Carolina or Ohio according to family data gathered in 1940. There are no "Lucky" families in Lancaster so I am assuming from the above burial notes that Mary married into the Luckie family whose members are noted above.

Can any of you Luckie researchers provide more information on the Mary Foster Luckie mentioned here, such as being from Lancaster, PA?

The L is unknown. The cemetary is in Tucker Georgia. It is on Lawrenceville Highway (US29) at the DeKalb/Gwinnet county line. On the site across the street where the Nesbits are buried there is a small plaque that tells about the Nesbits and that the site is on the old plantation site. It is now mostly subdivisions.. If I get a chance in the next few days I will re read the Plaque,

if you look at the 1850 census for a William F Luckie, Bexar county, Medina River township page 291 you will see that he had a son named Cornilius. This is probablly your Great Grandfather. Which means that you and I are distant cousins.
