I am currently researching the descendants of the Troup leaders of the Hambledon Boys of Hampshire and Sussex, England. Henry Ludlow was one of these commanders of the Troops led by Col. Richard Norton. They fought for the rights of Parliament during the English Civil War. The Hambledon Boys were renowned for their deeds and valor during battle and frequently charged against opposing troops larger in number than themselves.
Henry Ludlow was believed to have had interest in New England.
Sir Henry Ludlow married Lettice West (daughter of Thomas West, 3rd Baron de la Warre, Capt General of Virginia 1610). They had two daughters Margaret and Lettice. Margaret married Sir William Lytton of Knebworth, Herts. Lettice married "Fierce" John Harrison another Commander of the Hambledon Boys.
Any information regarding Henry Ludlow or any other of the Hambledon Boys please contact me.
