NORTH LIMA, Ohio – Mildred Brant, 107, passed away at Assumption Village on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.
Mildred was born March 20, 1905, in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of the late Harry and Katherine Koch Luebben.
She had worked at the Mazda Lamp Works until her marriage and during World War II was “Rosie the Riveter,” welding tank treads at Truscon Steel.
Mildred was an avid sewer and enjoyed sewing and made many of her own clothes.
Her husband, Charles, whom she married Nov. 29, 1928, passed away Dec. 18, 1986. They had resided in Avon Parks, Fla. for 20 years, returning to this area after travelling much of this country.
She leaves three daughters, Marjorie (Bob) Fergus of Boardman, Ohio, Dorothy (Bill) Powrie of Bradenton, FL.. and Shirley (Bill) Curley of Ashland, OH; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Herdman, Frances Paden and Catherine Miller; two brothers, George and John Leubben; and a grandson, Paul Marshall.
The family of Mildred wishes to thank everyone at Assumption Village for the compassion and care given to their mother.
There will be no services or calling hours.
