Dear FDennis - Thank you for writing this reply. Sadly, my friend from Enid has also passed away. It sounds as if both you and he benefited very much from knowing Miss Luikart. (His name was Michael York -- a musician - a strange, creative, quirkily brilliant fellow. The odds are great that you didn't know him.)
Thank you for writing! nw

Hi -
My name is Ashley Pope. My brother's nameis Richard Rhea. Mom's (only child) name is Fan Rhea Lucy, daughter of Marjorie Fain Luikart (only child) daughter of Lillian May Luikart ( who I am pretty sure had a slew of brothers and sisters - Elizabeth and Cordellia are names I remember hearing). Her parents were Ann Marie Kistler and Gottlieb Agustus Luikart ( Nebraska). Whew! I think I have most of this correct. I would be interested in ANY thing you have about the Luikarts. Where does Schorndorf in Germany fit in? Or does it? Any information on Anne Marie Kistlers' descendents?
Thanks very much,
Ashley
email: ashannepope@hotmail.com
She had 6 children one boy David Thoenen.
If the Anna Barbara Schmind you mentioned was married 12 May 1865 in Germany I do not think it is the mother of my Catherine. She would have been 55 when she married in 1865. Too old to have children. If the years were different there might be a connection.

Anna Barbara Schmid married Johann Jakob Luikart on 12 May 1835 in Unterlenningen. Sorry for the miss information. My greatgrand mother was Catherine Luikart but her father was John Ulrich Luikart. As I understand it just about all the Luikarts in the United States are related and stem from Martin Luikart and before. I have researched the Luikart family back to the early 1500's. Have viewed and copied almost all of, if not all the available records from Germany to include family books. I am still researching the family, though there are a lot of loose ends. Hope to hear more of your line. Would be glad to print out and send Family Group records with notes.

Rodi:
If you will check "ancestry.com/trees/" - under "family tree" - find Albert, b. Sept 1887 in Ohio, son of Jacob & Catherine Wetter Luikart and go to the "Family Tree" page I think you will find an anhentafal? page with more on the family. Hope this helps!
Dear Mary-I don't know if I'm included in the family. I am a descendant of Gottlieb August Luikart. He was a child of Johann Michael Luickhardt (notice the change in last name spelling.) He moved to Nebraska and was in banking. He supported the education of all of his brothers and a sister or 2.
Please contact me if this could be related to your search. Thanks. Jill
