Looking for info on Thomas Lupher, a resident of Sugarcreek, Venango county,PA back in the 1800s. He sold land to my gr.gr.gr.grandfather Charles White.I would like to know what year this took place as I am trying to pin down Charles.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know there were Luphers in the Winfiled Kansas area, as my Grandfather Ernest A Lupher was born in Wellington KS which is about 20 miles from Winfield. My grandfather was the son of Sherman A Lupher.

I really dont know much more that this. There is a book " Fouklke Lupfer and Allied Families" by Sunshine Chambers published in 1952 that is supposed to have more information on the Luphers. It is available in sme libraries or thru Higginson Book Company. I have sent for the book. Hope this meager information helps

Phyllis Jean Waldrop, 67, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, May 17, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Waldrop of Albuquerque; three sons, Tommy Waldrop and wife Cassandra of Littlefield, TX, Dewey Waldrop and wife Virgie of Amarillo, TX, and Mark Waldrop of Albuquerque; three daughters, Kristi Ricketts and husband Greg, Tammy Olinger and husband Rob, and Kimberly Treece and husband Ken, all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Larry Lupher of Amarillo, TX. Phyllis was also a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church. Services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at 2:00 p.m., at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris NE, with Associate Pastor Bill Connors officiating. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Monday, May 19, 2003, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis' name to the Vista Care Family Hospice Foundation, 8804 Washington NE, Ste. C, 87113.

How much of your line do you know? I have contact with several different lines. We all descend from same Hans Jacob Lupfer.

I found this page (and this message list :) while idly google-searching my last name. It traces the origin of the family name back to Hans Jacob Lupfer, who came to this country in 1725.

We have a Lizetta Lupher born July 9, 1853 died Dec 25, 1936
Daughter of Thomas A. Lupher and Mary A. Whitham

She married John P. Johnson and had 3 children Sid, Earl, and Lorena.
Our question is more about her parents. Thomas A. and his wife and his parents Thomas Lupher and Eliza Cousins

Thomas A. Lupher had a second wife after Mary died at DeWitt, Neb Aug 24, 1906 She was Frances Henselman Johnson, we decend as does Lizetta from the first wife.

Our ancestor Hannah Jane Lupher who married Hamilton R. Dunn is the first child of Thomas A. and Mary R. Lupher
Lizetta is the 4th Child.
Does this fit your family and could you help us with proof of lineage for the link of Thomas & Eliza and their son Thomas A. Lupher and his wife Mary.
We need this to prove lineage for application to DAR membership for a family member
