Hello to Lupien families -
I am trying to put a Lupien family history together for a friend of mine - I have been able to do his line here in the Boston metro area back to his 3rd gr-grandfather, Francois X. Lupien - Francois was born CA 1852 in ST Ours Canada - he is the son of Jean Baptist Lupien Ellen (nee unknown)- he married 2 Brousseau sisters, Rosalie Laura, daughters of Zoel (or Joel) Flavia Roy - Francois X. Lupien died in 1935 at the home of his daugher Florence Lallas in Medford MA and is buried in "the family plot" at St Patrick's cemetery in Natick MA - According to the history of Wayland MA, Francois Lupien came with many other families from Quebec Canada via Worcester Spencer MA to work in the shoe factories - Francois was a delegate for striking shoe workers was the first citizen of French-Canadian origin to hold high office in Wayland MA by being elected selectman - this is about all the info I have - my friend does have a grand aunt (who is nearing 100 years) who says her grandfather Francois Lupien is a descendant of a Baron family from France who adopted the family name Lupien because they were in hiding in Canada - unfortunately, she can not remember how or where or why she knows this, but then again, I am only 40 I can not remember sometimes what I had for breakfast !!!!
I appreciate ANY info any of you might be able to share !!!
Cheers - "Lois Lane of the Lupien Family" (the name dubbed to me by friend)
