Hi, this is a shot in the dark but I am searching for the family of Luquette that lived in NO, Louisiana c. 1939. There was marraige between a woman with the surname of TUIT and the childrens names were Clovis, Henry and Alicia Marie. I got this information from the obit in the NOPL archives. Thanks

I am looking for any information on my paternal grandparents, Dallas and Eunice Luquette Hebert. They were from the Rayne/Crowley, LA area. Eunice died in 1945. Dallas died in ~1968-69. They had 5 children, Lula (Simon), Evelyn (Rourke), Dudley, Florence (Meaux), and Laura (Theriot). Only Evelyn and Florence ("Flo") survive and currently live in Rayne and Lafayette, respectively. I am Dudley's son. Because of the advanced age of my father's parents (Dallas & Eunice born early 1900's), I do not have much information beyond them. Was told long ago that there were not many Luquette's left, but apparently that was mistaken! I am told that Eunice had as much Indian blood as French. From the single picture that remains, it is evident. Would appreciate any information on either Eunice Luquette or Dallas Hebert. Thanks!

I'm from Abbeville and have been living in Astoria, Oregon for several years. My Dads name is Albert Luquette and my Moms name is Ena Lapoint. I'm curious as to whether my name is in the Luquette history in your posession and if it is, any chance of getting what you have?

My grandmother was Sosthene Luquettes sister. Her name was Therzille(Tarzile) Elizabeth Luquette. She married Harrison Taylor Lee in Aug 1918. This was his second marriage.

I guess you could say we are cousins. My information is limited but if I can help let me know.

(My mother Ruby was Sosthene's niece.)

Sosthene and Messina Luquette were my grandmother's, Tarzile (Therzille) Elizabeth Luquette, parents. Sosthene Jr. was her brother.

Looking for Jules Luquette who married Celestine Hebert. Children were Howard, Sis(do not know given name) and possibly another child. They raised a granddaughter named Sandra. Would appreciate any help. Have not seen Sandra in about 15 to 20 years.

Howard was married to Delsey ? Sandra was their daughter.

Jules is my grandmother's(Tarzile Luquette's) brother.

AJ's brother Horace was my grandfather. Horace married Josephine Duplantis in Oct. 1912. They had 5 children - Elvie, Norman, Rita, and twins George and Gloria Luquette.

My maternal grandmother is Mary Lou Luquette. Her paternal grandfather was Sosthene Luquette Jr.

I think that makes you my 2nd cousin Twice removed. But it is easier to say that my grandmother's great aunt is your grandmother (Terzile).

Which Sosthene is your grandmother's brother? There's Sosthene Jr. (b. 9 Nov 1882 d. 24 Oct 1948) and his father Sosthene Sr.

Sosthene Jr. married Mary Ella Duplantis, and Sosthene Sr. married Messine Choate.

I don't know if you found information you were wanting, but if not, you can fine information on Sosthene Luquet, Jr. in Southwest Louisiana records - Volume 15. He was born 9 November 1882, Abbeville, Vermilion, Louisiana. His father and mother is Sosthen and Missine Choate. Hope this helps.

I am looking for my family tree in the Luquette line. I know that there are several Luquettes in south Louisianna, but hopefully, I can learn more and find out which line I'm in.

My great grandfather's name was Farness Luquette (b. Mar 1907, d. Aug 1976). His Father was Sosthene Luquette Jr. (b. Nov 1882, d. Oct 1948).

Roxann - I'd LOVE to get the geneology you've already started on the Luquette's from Louisianna. I know that's where my dad was from. Yuo wouldn't happen to be related to an Edward Lilly Luquette? Larry and I knew AJ and Margarette over 50 years ago when he and Larry were room mates on an eastTexas baseball team,I believe it was Lufkin.They had also been room mates on another team earlier. We often wondered if they ever got married. The last time we saw Margarette she lived in Nacogdoches, Texas. Larry saw AJ a few years later, in Houma La where he was still playing baseball.
We are researching our family and just happened to see your message and the name just jumped out at us. Good luck in your quest - They were good friends and made our stay in Texas most enjoyable.
