I have Cyrus and Lester's parents. I have their census records from 1910. I'm a generation under you though. Cyrus and Lester would have been my grandfather's uncles. I'm through Charles.

We found an old pocket watch in my father-in-law's effects. It's an Elgin manufactured in 1894 with the initials "A L" engraved on the front. My F-in-L's mother's maiden name was Josephine Lux, died in the late sixties, born most likely in the nintteen-teens or twenties in the Buffalo area of New York, so we think this might have come down from her side of the family.

Anyone know of Josephine Lux, married to Peter Burwig? Peter was a cousin, raised as brother, to Dr. Herbert Burwig of North Tonawanda, New York.

Looking for information on Nicholas Lux, b. 1857 in Antwerp, Belgium. He immigrated to KS in the early 1880s and married Jane Giersch in 1882. They had 6 children. He owned the Nicholas Lux Machine Works facility in Topeka until 1916.

A little late, but maybe you'll check your post. Anyway, my great grandfather was George Friedrich Lux Sr, b.6/11/1811. He married Magdalena RAMIGE, b. 10/24/1813, d. 11/18/1902. They had a son George Jr, born 9/25/1835 in Lyons, NY, who married Zenobia Vertner. My mother was their daughter.

Any relation to a Mrs. Nick Rausch, Hoven SD? She would have been 82 yrs old in 1977. I was recently given a copy of a letter written to Loretta Cash (Lux) my grandmother's sister. It was an inquiry from a Mrs. Nick Rausch who was doing research to tie in our Lux line with her "Heinrich Meyer" family tree.

John, I am replying to a message you wrote in response to Diana Larson (a distant cousin of mine). Yes, she is decendent as am I from the Ramige line. Geroge Lux and Magdalene Ramige's 4th son, Philipp Lewis Lux was my g-grandfather. So I guess your g-grandfather and mine were brothers. I have a letter from a Parish in Hatten Alace, Germany that shows George Lux and Maria Eva Velden confirmed in marriage on Palm Sunday, March 19, 1826, both brothers mother and father. I am also a great grandson of Martin Lux. My Grandfather was John Joseph “Joe” Lux of Nezperce, Idaho. I have only recently begun researching the family tree but, thanks to some very helpful Uncles, I have a nearly complete, fairly accurate family tree for the decedents of Joe and Alphonsie (Braun) Lux. I also have a fairly extensive breakdown of the John Peter Lux (2 July 1838 – 4 August 1911) line. This would be John Martin “Martin” Lux’ father. Sebastian married Catherine EFFINGER on 01 October 1853 in Madison, Indiana. (Catherine EFFINGER was born on 25 December 1835, died on 18 January 1918 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was buried in St. Mary's Catholic Church, North Vernon, Indiana).

Children from this marriage were:

Joseph STEIN was born on 22 November 1854, died in 1938 and was buried in Riverview Cemetery Seymour, Indiana.

Jacob STEIN was born on 29 March 1859 in North Vernon, Indiana and died on 01 January 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jacob married Josephine FUEHNER, daughter of Theodore Otto FUEHNER and Anna MEVERROTTEN. (Josephine FUEHNER was born on 07 January 1872 in Germany and died on 31 January 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio).

Sabastion STEIN was born on 11 July 1865 and died on 30 November 1920 and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Magdelina STEIN was born on 28 February 1862 and was buried in North Vernon, Indiana.
