Dies After Long Illness – George
H. A. Lyford Also Was Retired Banker
George Henry Anderson Lyford, 73 years old, retired attorney and banker, died yesterday at his home at the Vernon Manor. He had been ill two months.
Mr. Lyford was born in Cincinnati. He attended Chickering Institute, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Law School and Yale. For many years he was manager of the Cincinnati Clearing House.
Active in Masonic circles, he held memberships in the Scottish Rite and the Shrine and received the thirty-second degree in the Dayton, Ohio, Masonic Lodge. He also was a member of the Torch Club and University Club.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Laura Lyford, three daughters, Mrs. Dorothea Bell, New York, Mrs. Alice Hutchins and Miss Emmita Lyford, Cincinnati, and three sons, John, a student at Yale, Thomas and George Lyford, Cincinnati, survive.
Services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock from the W. Mack Johnson funeral home, McMillan Street and Upland Place.
