I am just getting started on collecting info on Lykins line. I would appreciate hearing from you. I live in Perryopolis, PA. I am a descendant of David J. Lykins line. My grandma is Agatha Lykins, her father is Shilo Lykins/mother Alice Nice Lykins. The line is David J. to Eunice or Eunica to Levi Lykins to Alice Lykins to Agatha Lykins. David J.'s 2nd wife was Nancy Williams. I don't know who his 1st wife was. David J.'s father was William Lykins and mother was Margaret Ritter.

Hello my name is Tony, I am also looking for additional information on Mason Lykins. I believe that Mason Lykins Had a Son Name Peter and a Son Name Charley. Peter had a son named John Franklin, which would be my great grandfather. But records that I have found show that John was raised by Charley. I cannot find anything on Peter other than the fact that Peters name is on John Franklins birth certificate as the father and Cynthia as the mother. If you could help me, I would appreciate it. I'm trying to match a will - the daughter is listed as Rebeca (LEHEW) LIKING or maybe LISTING, depending on which book. Her father died in 1811 in Wythe county, VA - but lived most of his life in Frederick County, VA.

I bought the tax lists for the 1790s and found a Jonas Sr., Jonas Jr. and a Henry LIKING - does this ring any bells for anyone?

My LYKINS family settled in Delaware Co. in the mid 1850s.
I have a pretty extensive list of LYKINS from Delaware Co. BUT I do not see the three names you listed.
I know it has been awhile since you posted this request, have you been able to find out any further information? IF so please let me know... I may have a major gap in my research.

I know that his mother was listed as Celia Vires b 9/1884. I know her second husband was Henry H Johnson. I can not find anything on her after being listed in the 1910 Breathitt County Ky census. It could be that Stanley was illegitmate not sure. I know he probably was not given birth to by Celia unless the date is wrong on his birth certificate the year of his birth was given as 1911 but Celia had a son named Sam who was my grandfather and his brother Noah was b 1913. I do not know what her first husbands name was or if she married again after Henry Johnson. Stanley is listed on the 1910 Breathit County Ky census living with Henry H johnson and Celia Any help is greatly appreciated as she has become a stone wall for me Thanks so very much Dan

BAILEY (nee Lykins) Age 78, born November 28, 1925 in Morgan County, KY, and a longtime Hobart, IN, resident, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 24, 2004 after a long battle with cancer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Liberty, KY. Crystal was dedicated to her Church and her family. My family lives in Muncie, IN and I believe my great grandfather came from Kanawha Co. WV. His name was Erasmus Lykins, his son Arta (Artie) Lykins was my grandfather. Erasmus was born in 1844, Artie was born in 1877 in Gilmer Co. WV. My father was Artie's son. His name was Marion Lykins. All three lived in Delaware Co. IN. Grandpa Percell in one of his military draft registrations said he was born in Wolf County. In one of the census records, maybe from 1900, there are a lot of Lykins on the same page as the Percells so maybe Columbus and nannie were neighbors. I too heard she was adopted. I heard two stories about why they left Riceville in the middle of the night. One was that Grandpa shot seomone who shot one of his kin. Another was that a person stole from his store and he beat him. That person was related to the Sheriff or Deputy and when the officer came after Grandpa, he shot him. Unfortumately I have found no corroberation. I am told Harold is still living and may know. Are you in Ohio? I am in Texas.

Nannie Belle Lykins was my great grandmother. We just buried my uncle Paul Ishmael and had a discussion about Nannie Belle Lykins and the fact that she was an orphan. We too are curious about her last name. My grandmother, Oma Percell Ishmael (deceased), was your great aunt and a sister of your grand mother. Do you know what town Chrisopher Columbus Percell was born in? I understand he ran a store in or near Salyersville, KY until the family was forced to move to Ohio in the middle of the night.

I believe that Oma used to go to the Germany Hollow Freewill Baptist Church. Is that correct? I wish that someone knew more about Nannie Bell. My Great-Grandmother (Hazel Percell Williams) is still living. She would be the sister of Oma. She does not know alot about her family history.

I do not know what town Christopher Columbus was born in. I have that he was born in Morgan Co., Kentucky. Where did you learn that he ran a store in Salyersville, and do you know why they were forced to move in the middle of the night?

The Licking County Courier published a photograph of David LYKINS in the July 26, 1951, edition. According to the caption, a descendant in West Liberty then owned the original tintype. Does anyone know where the tintype is now located? The newspaper is now on microfilm and it's virtually impossible to get a good copy of the portrait from the film. Does anyone have a better copy?

Oh by the way, on the marriage Rueben Turner is listed along

I have found census records showing James Harvey Lykins, my ggGrandfather, and an Elizabeth Anne Lykins and Winnie J. Lykins as living in the household of Peter Lykins, son of William Stuart Lykins and Margaret Ritter. An 1880 census shows James Harvey Lykins and Winnie Lykins living with an Elizabeth Lykins. There is speculation James Harvey and Winnie J. are actually Elizabeth's children, living with her at her father's, Peter Lykins, home in the earlier census. If that is true, I have no information reflecting who James Harvey and Winnie J.'s father is. Is there anyone with actual documentation that can help me, please?

Hi Just found some new info. On Stanley Lykins. His mother was Celia Vires Johnson Lykins. Celia died in 1926 at Lexington ky hosp. Celia Married Stanley Lykins and had one son that I have found named Stanley Omar Lykins who was born and died in New Mexico. I think he died in the 1980's I hope this helps
