Ronald,
Got your email. Sorry for the late reply. My
Grandfather's name was Trevou Lester Lyle, son of
Gustavas Lyle, son of William Maher Lyle, son of
Charles L. Lyle born the 23rd of June, 1784 in
Spartanburg, Union County, South Carolina. Charles
married Nancy Kirby and they lived and died in Coweta Couty, Georgia around
Newnan. They had 15 children. Charles' father
was a Scotsman named Maher Shallal Hashbaz Lyle.
Maher was borned the 14th of March, 1737. Probably in
Antrim County, Northern Ireland. They were not Irish or
even Scotch-Irish; they were 100% Scotch. The Lyle family
belongs to the Stuart clan, were Presbyterians, and were
driven from Scotland by the Earl of Montrose because they
were Presbyterians. That's when they settled in Ireland.
William, Gustavas, and Trevous are all buried in Carroll County
Georgia. Someone who knows a lot about the Lyles around
Carroll County and other counties in Georgia, is Earlene
Mendenhall Lyle. Her website is very good. The web address
is

capital letters where needed. Hope this information helps. Keep
