Just a note to all Lyle's to say my great Aunt, Jennie Bell Lyle of Little Rock, AR, and Lorene K. Peterson, researched and published a family book detailing our ancestry back to the 1600's, with Thomas Lyle, born January 11, 1817, Belfast, Antrim County, Ireland. He came across the Atlantic as a babe in arms with his parents, David and Jane Lyle, on the ship 'Elizabeth', from Belfast to Charleston, S.C., where they arrived October 31, 1817.
This book (only 50 copies made), contains over 100 associated families (from A-Y)
Other pertinent information on the Lyle name: known in Scotland as Carlisle and later De Lisle. Relations go as far back as Mary Queen of Scots.
If I can be of assistance to help you research your ancestry through this magnificant piece of work of my great Aunt's, please feel free to e-mail me.
