I am looking for any information about the Lyle Family from Tennessee. The furthest back I can get is Allen Lyle b:abt 1819 in TN. married to Mary McDaniel. My grandmother said that the name wasn't always Lyle.... It was a Portuguese name that meant roach or worm, so they changed it. I know it sounds weird, but that's what she said.
