LYMAN Samuel Kealoha Ohelo Lyman passed away on September 24, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital's Selma Markowitz Care Center.
Sam was born on July 14, 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Samuel Kalei and Viola (Ohelo) Lyman.
After graduating from Kailua High School in 1961, Sam served in the United States Navy for four years, including a tour in Vietnam.
He spent most of his career in the aerospace industry as a programmer, and the past several years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a Network Administrator.
Anyone who has met Sam knows of his compassion for others, positive attitude, and laid back Hawaiian style!
He loves riding his motorcycles, playing cards, and traveling back to Hawaii whenever possible to reconnect with his family, friends, and the islands.
He is survived by his daughters, Samantha (Robert) Macchia, Amber (Gerad) Brasch; and four grandchildren, Alec Laimana and Aidan Kekoa Macchia, and Kanalei Alise and Keikona Kealoha Brasch.
Also surviving are siblings, Joseph and Lloyd Ohelo, Norman Hanuna, Michael Kim and Babe Huber.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 785 Newark Granville Road, Granville, Ohio 43023
His ashes will be brought home to Hawaii in Summer 2012 for burial.
