Lesta G. Lynde
Lesta G. Lynde, 100, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Kane, formerly of 130 Greeves St.,
died Monday afternoon, July 28, 2008
at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born June 1, 1908 in Kane,
she was the daughter of William H. and Dora E. Haight Spence.
On June 21, 1934, she married William T. Lynde,
who died in 1983.
Mrs. Lynde had worked at The Nut Shop
and the Dan Dee Shop, both formerly in Kane.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kane, where she was a home member of the Mary Circle. Surviving are a son, Thomas C. (Helen) Lynde, of Erie;
a daughter, Barbara (Ed) Schmookler, of Berkeley, Calif.; eight grandchildren,
seven great-grandchildren;
and a special friend, Josephine Lauer, of Kane.
Preceding her in death,
in addition to her husband and parents,
are a son, William D. Lynde;
and a grandson, Thomas S. Lynde.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II
Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane
on Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there at 11 a.m. on Friday
with the Rev. David Lake, pastor
of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in McKean
Memorial Park, Lafayette. Memorial contributions
may be made to The Lutheran Home at Kane, 100 High Point Drive, Kane, PA 16735.
