Stabbed to Death
Birmingham, Alabama, September 29 - A sensational tragedy occurred late last night at East Lake, six miles out. John Mabry, a carpenter, was killed by W. W. Lumpkin, an engineer.
The tragedy occurred on a crowded suburban train in the presence of the passengers. No one seems to know the cause of the fatal difficulty. The men suddenly began fighting. Mabry was stabbed in the breast near the heart and died in a few minutes. His wife was with him at the time and tried to stop him when the difficulty began.
