Toni,
I, too, am a descendent of Mackum Callum. I have a copy of a two-part article on the Callums of Massachusetts & Rhode Island that ran in "The American Genealogist" in January and April of 1995 It was written by David Dearborn and William Ford Larson. I don't know anything about Larson, but Dearborn is on the staff of the New England Historical Genealogical Society and he was kind enough to send me the 2nd part of the article.
If you're interested, send me your snail-mail address and I'll send you the article. Unfortunately, it has no information about Mackum's origins in Scotland, but it has a lot about his life and family in Massachusetts.
Zandra, I reread the messages. I was so excited when I first heard from you. I see where Sherry was not asking for my phone number but would give her address and phone number to me. I would like that very much. Also, if she is computer friendly and has an e-mail address I would really like that. I would like to correspond with her by this method if she has a screen name. I think it would be quicker. However, I would love to have her address and phone number. Right at first, I would write her by regular mail - "snail mail" as it is called rather than phone because I have so much to talk to her about. Also, I would have a tendency to get too excited (at least when we first get acquainted) and would forget half of what we talked about. As I said, I would love her address. Bless you for getting her and I together. Betty

I have an Archie MacCallum from Largis, Argylshire, Scotland and married Mary Anderson from Edinborough, Scotland. They had a daughter named Elizabeth "Bessie" born 10 OCT 1819 in Largis, Argylshire, Scotland. Bessie married Donald Stalker in Scotland 1840. After a couple of children they all migrated to St Mary's, Ontario Canada. They had 12/13 children all together. I don't know if any other of Archie/Mary children came over at that time or before.
