I don't have any information for you but Don Pedro is my great great grandfather. He is the father of Lucy Mace. She died in Avery, TX at the age of 104. Lucy married William Joseph Clenney. They had 8 children(I think) not in order:
William Bryan Clenney (my dad's dad), Harold Clenney, Hazel Clenney, Mable Clenney. That is all I know so far.

Nicholas Mace and Isaella Brown are my gggg-grandparents. My ggg-grandfather was their son, David Brown Mace. I have no family info about James Madison Mace. In fact, my info had his middle name spelled with a "t" and not a "d".

Am I right in assuming that William Albert is the son of James Madison Mace?

Growing up in Indiana I attended many Mace family reunions held in Clay Co., IN.(?)

Lisa McCllough

Re: Mace family from Greene County, Tennessee

In past family Mace Reunions in IN - I have learned of 3 Mace brothers that came from Greene Co TN. They were Isaac Mace, David Mace and Nicholas Mace. They may have oher siblings .

Nicholas Mace was my gggg-grandfather. He was born in 1792 in Greene Co Tenn. and died in 1877. He married Isabella Brown and they had 9 children. David Brown Mace (my ggg-grandfather), James Madison Mace, John Doke Mace, Glaspie Mace (Polly Ann?), Nicholas Emerson Mace, Elizabeth Jane Mace, Amanda Isabel Mace, Isaac Henry Mace and William Thomas Mace.

Isaac had 13 kids total(married twice). With his 1st wife Elizabeth Ragan, they had 4 kids: Jacob Mace, John H Mace, Betsy Mace and Elizabeth (Eliza) Mace.

Isaac and his 2nd wife, Delaney Akre, had 9 children: Robert Mace, Henry Mace, Nicholas Mace, illiam mace, Leonard Mace, Jane Mace, Delaney Mace, Nancy Calherence Mace and Ellen Mace.

Many of the given names are used by both family lines - which makes it really confusing when looking at Census records.

I don't know if David had children.

I also may be related to Isaac Mace's line through the marriages of McCulloughs to Maces. (I am still working on this!)

And Most of all I want to thank you for sharing the information in Greene County TN census. It gave me the names of Nicholas Mace's parents.

Lisa McCullough

I am trying to find the mother of Clara Corson (my husband's great grandmother) and as of yet I have not been able to find any kind of records on her prior to her marriage to Grover J King. In fact I can't even find their marriage record. Any way, my suspicion was that maybe Clara was the child of Laura Mace and George Corson because of their marriage date May 1885 and Clara's approximate birth date June 1888. Frank E Corson was born about May 1886.

Somewhere along the way I didn't explain myself well, what did I type that gave you the impression Clara would be 12 when she married? Maybe I can clarify.

Prior to being married I can't find Clara in any census.

Do you have any information on Laura Mace? I found her marriage record and Frank E Corson's death record but other than that I don't have any information on her.

Thomas "Shorty" Mace (or Mays) - Iowa

I'm attempting to locate information on a relative who was adopted in Southwest Iowa around 1931. The 1930 census for Iowa, Pottawattamie County, Lewis Township, District 44 shows a Faye E. Hamlin with her 16 month old son, Archie L Hamlin. Archie's birth father was killed in an accident shortly before Archie was born. Faye later married into the Mace (or Mays) family and her new husband adopted Arhie. They changed his name to Tommy Mace and after he grew up his nickname was "Shorty" (He was over 6 foot tall). Family history has it that Tommy eventually moved to Alaska for several years, started his own family with several sons, and eventually retired to Florida. I've been unable to find anything documenting where the family went afterwards. Tommy's father was apparently a deputy sheriff in Pottawattamie County Iowa in the late 1930's. Tommy is mentioned in a newspaper article when he and his cousins witnessed one of his Larsen cousins being the victim of a car-pedestrian motor vehicle accident in August 1935. If you have any information regarding Tommy "Shorty" Hamlin Mace, please contact me at atkinsondp56@hotmail.com.

I did a little digging.
If you check the 1880 census of Levant, Maine there is a household of George W. Corson. Wife Fannie. Couple married one year. No children of this wife. Son Frank E. b c 1886.
I conclude that Frank is the one and only child of Laura and George.

Sorry this took so long, but I cannot say I have much more info, as that is pretty much the reason for me posting the info.

Anyway, all I can tell you is:

My father is Barry Mace(age 58). His twin was Brad(deceased). His other siblings include Sherry(over 60?), Shawn (age 53?), and Mahlon (age 50?). They grew-up in southwestern Minnesota (Belview and Redwood Falls).

My father's parents were Mary Mace(maiden name- Gilronan) and Jay Mace. I know nothing of my grandfather, Jay, other than that I have been told that he also grew-up in southern Minnesota.

As anyone else on this site, I am interested in knowing even more. I really do not have the time, at this point in my life, to lead a mission into the different courthouses of southern Minnesota- namely the small town of Belview and also Redwood Falls. I thought this site was a more conducive approach. If you have any further info, I would appreciate it!

And who was my Grandmother's (Goldie's) father-
especially interested in pictures of him as we only have a very blurry one (young and/or old would be great. Eagerly awaiting hearing from you. Hope all is well.
Sandy Rudolph
