BUFFALO, Iowa -- Willard R. Mack, 71, Buffalo, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport.
Services at Friends Church, Buffalo. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo.
Visitation at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Friends Church.
Mr. Mack was born on Oct. 24, 1930, in Macon, Mo. He married Edith Wakefield on Dec. 9, 1950, in Rock Island, Ill.
He was a machine operator at the Caterpillar Plant, Mount Joy, for 27 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of Buffalo Friends Church, where he was head of the trustees, a door greeter and Sunday school secretary; UAW Local No. 215 Retirees Chapter; and Cardiac Rehab Phase No. 3 at the Davenport YMCA.
He loved to fish, bowl and put puzzles together. He enjoyed overhauling gasoline engines.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Bonnie Lynn Stowe and her husband, Glen, of New Auburn, Wis., Linda Fay Brendel and her husband, Gerald, of Baldwin, N.D., Wanda Rae Hyde and her husband, John, of Davenport and Mary Fern Brunett and her husband, Chris, of Grantsburg, Wis.; 13 granddaughters and their spouses; 33 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Gayle Fern Mayabb of Hugo, Olka., Mary Margaret Livingston of Richland, Texas, Virginia Miller of Tolar, Texas, Alpha Mariner of Peoria, Ill. and Doris Jean Richardson of Macon; and brothers, Norman Dean Mack of Buffalo and Donald Lee Mack of Kingman, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Esther.

BUFFALO, Iowa - Norman D. Mack, 69, of Buffalo, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at the VA hospital in Iowa City, after a prolonged illness.
The Rev. Ray Oehme of Vineyard Christian Fellowship will officiate.
Burial at the Rock Island National Cemetery, with full military rites provided by the Moline American Legion.
Mr. Mack was born April 24, 1938, in Macon, Mo., the son of Hershel and Nellie (Hornbeck) Mack.
He later moved to Iowa and married Sharon Watson Jan. 10, 1961, in Aledo. They had five children and adopted one child together.
He retired after 20 years of service at Davenport Cement, where he served in a variety of positions and as a weigh master.
He was a disabled veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict and the Gulf War eras.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion and Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church.
He was proud of the U.S. military and its efforts throughout the world.
His favorite pastime was fishing and he enjoyed time on the river with his good friend, Charles.
He was a hunter and enjoyed being outdoors. He was also a volunteer, helping with karaoke at local retirement homes.
He is survived by his wife; five children, Lavern Mack of Des Moines, Stacey Mack and his wife, Lori, of Hanover, Pa., Rebekkah Woods of Muscatine, Michael Mack and his wife, Kerri, of Des Moines and Courtney Mack of Buffalo; eight grand children; four sisters, Mary and Ed Livingston of Texas, Virginia and John Miller of Texas, Alfa and Scott Mariner of Illinois and Doris and Kenny Richardson of Missouri; and a brother, Donald and Shirley Mack of Arizona.
