Lillian Tallent Macon, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Born Jan. 26, 1913, Lillian was the daughter of the late Frank and Willa Mae Tallent; the beloved wife and best friend of the late James Conway Macon Jr.; and the sister of the late Billie J. Tallent Andrews. Lillian had a keen wit, a wonderful sense of humor and a real zest for life. She was a longtime active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon, St. Paul's Lydia's Circle and Pittsburgh's chapter of the Southern Club. Originally from Birmingham, Ala., Lillian was proud of her Southern heritage. She lived in Mt. Lebanon since 1947, where her passions were golf, bridge and traveling with her husband and friends. Lillian is survived by her brother-in- law, Barclay T. Macon and his wife, Irene Macon; and by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, in St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon.
