Henry Henderson Gayer Maddock was named after his great grandmother Charlotte Gayer. She was from Carlow Co. Ireland and married Rev. James Morgan (Belfast).
It was common practice in those times for children to be given the last names of relatives. Most of the children in the same generation were named after various relatives from earlier generations.
