Thank you for your message! I really would like any information on this Madonna family from Lama. My maiden name is Madonna and I have ran into the Madonnas from Taranta Peligna, which is only a few miles away from Lama (I also have relatives from Taranta). My great-grandfater, Alterigio Madonna, who renamed himself Richard Madonna when he came to the US, had at least 3 brothers and I would like to know if they also came to the US.

How are you related to the Madonna family? Once in a while I run into someone with the last name Madonna, but it is not too often.

If you could help with any info on this family, that would be great. I found what info I have from a Family History Center close to my home.

Do you still need information on your Madonna's from Lama Dei Peligni? What do you want to know? I work at the Family History Center and have a lot of the films for that area. Could do some look ups for you. I, also, have the family name of Madonna.

Alex Madonna, owner of the landmark Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo and a developer whose whimsical plans often spurred disputes with planning officials, died Thursday, a representative of his company said. He was 85.

Mr. Madonna died in his home of an apparent heart attack, said Cheri Humphrey, who manages the hotel ' s stores.

He was best known as the owner and designer of the Madonna Inn, whose hot-pink sign on U.S. Highway 101 beckons visitors to stay in one of its 108 themed rooms ranging from the Caveman Room to the Safari Room.

Mr. Madonna ' s other developments included a shopping center where, in a dispute over a required environmental impact report, Mr. Madonna threatened to place a pig farm so that motorists on a nearby road would be greeted with the unpleasant smell.

His construction firm built or repaved most of U.S. Highway 101 from Salinas to Buellton and state Route 41 from Cholame to Fresno, according to the San Luis Obispo Tribune.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, a son and grandchildren.

I am searching for information on my great-grandfather Alterisio Madonna who I believe was born in Lama Dei Peligni around 1867. I have heard that he studied at the Vatican for a brief time. He came to the U.S. in 1896 where he first resided in New York, the Pennsylvania, and finally settled in Coal Creek Colorado. He married my great-grandmother Angelica Martella. Their Americanized names were Richard and Jesse Madonna.

I'm looking for Jack Madonna and I don't know how you are involved in this. I don't know you or any of the names you mentioned. Again, I'll write slowly so you understand, I am only looking for Madonna's from the Lancaster, Pa. area. That is in the United States. I am a Madonna, not a Bary.

Gianfranco- My great-grandfather was born in Lama Dei Peligni, however, am still looking for more info. His name was Alterigio Madonna born June 9, 1864, to Antonio Madonna who was the son of Filippo Madonna. Alterigio's mother was Maria Giovanna Di Rito. I know of three siblings--Filippo Madonna (born ?), Giuseppe Madonna born 1860, and Conezio Madonna born 1862.

I don't know if his brother Giuseppe Madonna is the same one listed in your message. Do you know Giuseppe's parents' names? Please let me know what info you have.

I have now located my great-grandfather's birth record from Lama Dei Peligni, however, am still looking for more info. His name was Alterigio Madonna born June 9, 1864, to Antonio Madonna who was the son of Filippo Madonna. Alterigio's mother was Maria Giovanna Di Rito. Hello, My name is Arthur Martone and I live in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA. My grandmother was born in Amorosi and came to the USA in 1919. Her name was Giovanina Madonna. She was born in May 18, 1895. She married Filippo Martone from Castelvenere. I know that she had a brother named Michele and a sister named Filomina. I also think that Michele had a son named Francesco and a daughter named Anna. Married Florence Emily Jackson of Toronto, Canada. 1 daughter, Antionette Francis who married Roy Gipson, 2 sons, Frank who married Irene and Alfred who married Catherine. I only have very little info, but you have me interested. My father, John Madonna, is from Lancaster, Pa. as is my mother. They divorced when I was young, he walked out and that was the last time I ever heard of him or any of my relatives. I only knew my grandparents a short time. I was 11 when he left. I can get you some more names from my mother, but you should know I only think of them as pond scum. You'd have to know all the details.
Let me know if you would likw me to get you more info. And if you know where my dad is, let me know. He owes me a lot of money.

My gg grandparents, Agapito "Frank" Madonna and Rose (Latina) were married approx. 1880-1885 probably in Phila. but possibly in NYC. By 1900 they live on Agate St. in Philadelphia with six children. They had more after 1900 - I would like to hear from anyone with information on this family. Their daughter Filamena was my great grandmother.
