Lauridsen Family Ancestry
Mildred Lauridsen maiden name Shultzs born March 20 1925 in Brooklyn New york to Theodore Shultz who immigrated from Russia around 1890. His name was changed from Shultsoff to Shultz because they would only ask you once for a name and wrote down what ever at Ellis Island because so many people were coming in then. Mildred had a sister named Sara who had two sons Bruce and Larry. Larry died in the 70s Bruce still lives in New york and works as a broker on Wall Street But was a subway operator for a while. Sara died 1997-1998? Mildred in July of 2001.
Kurt Hilvestaed Lauridsen born Oct 30 1920 was son of Emma Knudsen (Knudsen dairy products) and John Jensen Lauridsen. John came to New york first. He worked for the phone company in Denmark. He then later had Emma come over with Kurt and daughter Girly. Emma's uncle Owa wanted them to stay in Denmark, he owned laundry mats. John bought two buildings in Brooklyn. apartments above stores. He lived in one rent the other out. But moved to California. and started a floor covering business. John became a Chiropractor, and the actor Jackie Gleason ( honeymooners and smoky and the bandit) was one of his clients. He painted and Gleason had a painting that he did not pay for. some of Johns painting are now worth over 100000 dollars! John claimed to be the illegitimate son of a danish duke. There also is the story of a solider in Napoleon's army who deserted and went to Denmark and married Christina Lauridsen and took the name Christian.
