Robert MAGNUSON born Nov 1923 in Seattle

I am searching for information about Robert Leroy Magnuson, born in Seattle to Martin (Marius) and Nellie (Gunhild) Magnuson, Norwegian immigrants. His last contact with the family was around 1970 and he was living in Southern Califoria. He sent a postcard from Hawaii around that time.

Bob was a paratrooper in WWII in the 517th and has not attended their reunions. Two military documents indicate he may have married for a time during the war.

Bob was a civilian contractor with the Navy in Alaska c. 1948-51. In a photo from Kodiak he is shown with another Robert Magnuson. After Alaska he moved back to Seattle and then perhaps to San Diego before going to Los Angeles. He was a licensed pilot and flew float planes in Seattle for a time.

Family rumor is that he was homeless and probably died on the streets in LA. Have been searching for about 5 years and can find no records past 1957.

Any information is much appreciated.
Kyrsten of the band 'Magnuson'

Guitar player’s website InfamousGuitar.com announces Kyrsten of the band 'Magnuson' as first
member-spokesmodel

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 17, 2008 ) Dallas, TX - InfamousGuitar.com and Kyrsten, lead guitarist from San Diego
band “Magnuson” are teaming up to promote the Infamousguitar.com $10,000 Habitat for Humanity Challenge.
“We chose Kyrsten for several reasons,” says Sean Hansen, editor of Infamousguitar.com. “She’s a killer guitar
player, she’s a member at our site InfamousGuitar.com, she’s uber-hot, her band rocks, and she’s all in all a
really cool chick. So, we’re going to put her face out there to help grow our site, promote Habitat for Humanity,
and get her band noticed. It’s a win-win-win-win, the fourth win being whoever eventually receives the benefits
from Habitat for Humanity as a result of our contribution.”
The InfamousGuitar.com Habitat for Humanity challenge is a combination membership drive and fundraiser. If
InfamousGuitar.com gets 10,000 members on its site in 2008, they will donate $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity
by the end of the year.
“Habitat for Humanity is undoubtedly our favorite charity. Everyone needs a home, and Habitat gives people who
are down on their luck a chance to work together with others to build themselves a home,” offers John Kirkwood,
webmaster of Infamous Guitar. “You can’t beat it. They’re technically a charity, but they don’t give handouts, they
give hands-up. Which we all need from time to time.”
Kyrsten’s band, Magnuson, is going places. They’ve toured nationally, and are getting lots of air time on the
college stations with their single “Strange Lights". Their music video "Hopeless Rerun" generated industry
accolades in the Rock Star 98.7 video competition. “Just listen to them, ad you’ll hear a band that actually
manages to take the three-piece rock trio to a new place,” offers Hansen. “I’m glad we get to say ‘we knew them
when…’ ”.
InfamousGuitar.com has just begun its first monthly guitar solo competition in May 2008, and has already had
over a half million pages viewed on its site. Many guitar players and fans from the now-complete 2007 Guitar
Center King of the Blues competition have migrated to InfamousGuitar.com, and its membership has grown into
the hundreds, primarily through word-of-mouth viral marketing. InfamousGuitar.com expects thousands of
members and millions of unique visitors during its 2008-2009 Online Guitar Solo Contest.
For more information about InfamousGuitar.com, please visit http://www.infamousguitar.com, or email press
[at] infamousguitar.com.
For more information about “Magnuson”, please visit http://www.magnusonband.com.
For more information about Habitat for Humanity, please visit http://www.habitat.org.
###
This press release was issued through GroupWeb EmailWire.Com.
MAGNUSON, John & Edith C. in Oregon
I am transcribing the Evergreen Cemetary in Ontario, Malheur Co., Oregon and thought I would post pictures of the Pre-1900 headstones for those interested in having them. This is a very large cemetary, there is a possibility there could be other family members buried here after this time period. If you are interested in them, I can look for them specifically.

more info: Gustav Magnuson b. 6-10-1893, sweden.....moved to Norway for awhile where he married Olina Evenson. Came to America in 1884. This may clear up your mix up in dates of 1884 for Nels as he was Gustav's son . Gustav died in 1920. I have more info, but too lengthy to post here.

Photo album of Coats/Coats/Magnuson family found

Hello - Today I rescued a photo album of the Coats/Coates family that also includes the Magnuson family. The album was found in an Olympia, Washington antique store. The Coats family lived in the Aberdeen/Raymond area of Washington State. There are some newspaper clippings in the back about the wedding of Miss Winifred Coats and Arthur G. Magnuson. They were married by Rev. Geo. F. Hopkins (Methodist) and they were gong to live in Raymond, Wa. Some of the pictures in the album are older - mid to late 1800s and most are not labeled. I'd be happy to scan and send to those interested. Sue sug53@earthlink.net

She was the oldest of 9 children (Christina/Tillie, Carl, Martha, Otto Nicanor/Nic, Hilma, Emil, Olga and Edward).

Annie seperated from the family for some unknown reason - Hilma (my grandmother) would not speak of her at all, a complete taboo subject.

In Britta's obit she is listed as Mrs Annie English (rest of girls are listed by husbands name - Mrs. Conrad Lindholm, etc). That was 1930. By the time of Erik's death in 1942 there was no mention of her name at all.

Just looking to see if she fits into anyones family.

Thanks

Eric Peter Magnus(s)on / Brita Lisa Svens(s)son

Eric and Brita Magnusson came to the US in/around 1890. Eric was born in Angremanland in 1865. Brita was born in 1863 - they married in 1889. They brought with them three children: Anna (birth circa 1887), Christina (birth 1889), and Carl (1890). The eventually settled in Two Harbors, Minnesota and had several more children: Martha (1893), Otto Nicanor (1897), Hilma (1899), Emanuel (Emil) (1902), Olga (1904) and Edward (1906).

Hilma was my grandmother. I am looking for further information on this family especially information on the first child - Anna or possibly Annie or Ann. It was only at the time of my grandmothers death in 1997 did we learn that Anna existed. Very little is known about Anna except that she may have been the "black sheep" of the family and thus the reason why no one ever talked about her. We only have speculation and a few family pictures of her, nothing else. It is also possible that Anna was not their biological child as she was born before they married (though this is only a suggestion).

Anyone with anything about this family is welcome to contact me.

Thank you

Barbara Hively
John (Johan) Aron Magnuson

A brother to one of my ancestors was John (Johan) Aron Magnuson. He was born 15th Feb 1859 in Fotskäl parish Västergötland in Sweden. He emigrated in 1882 to Dudley Iowa. I guess the destination is not correct. He had two nephews coming in 1906 and 1910 to Boston. I think that the reason they emigrated and to that area was that the first of them came to visit him. There is also a Dudley in MA. Both we in Sweden and the American relatives do not know anything about him. Would be very grateful finding him and perhaps any now living relatives.

Magnuson/Eklof ancestry

I am looking for the ancestors of Eleanore Wilhelmina Magnuson (or Magnusson?) who was born in Colorado in 1916 to a Magnuson and an Eklof. I do not know their first names. Both died in a car accident when Eleanore was about 7 years old (approx. 1920)and Eleanore and her sister Alice were taken in by another Swedish couple named Carl and Sigrid Swanson. Does anybody know any information on either a Magnuson or Eklof from Colorado?
