Hi, my name is Rosemary, I live in Houston, TX and have been working on a family tree for about 5 months now. I have a cousin in Horton, AL originally from Charleston, SC that has done some research that I am getting information from and she has given me the earliest possible which is Simon Magwood born 4-9-1763. He came to Charleston 8-1-1785 from Monaghan, North Ireland and married Mary Elizabeth Holmes born 1770. Simon died 8-4-1836 and Mary died 2-1-1833. They had seven children: Eliza born 1795, Charles Augustus born 1796 and married Rebecca O'Hara (maybe around 1824, not sure), they had 3 kids: Elizabeth, Helen and James, but somehow the name Mary Ann Lucas ties into it. Then there's: James Holmes born 1-15-1796 or 97-died 1815, Simon John born 10-3-1805 died 1891, married Susan Sarah born 1818 died 1893, Susan C. born 12-6-1807 married Andrew Moreland, Eleanor Mary born 12-5-1808 and Sarah A. I also know that somehow the last name Pinckney is tied into this. I am still in the process of finding further information and waiting on the next generation line to get closer to my connection. I am married so my maiden name is Garfinkel and my grandmothers maiden name is Murray. If anyone has any other information linked to these names let me know.

it is very possible that we are related in some way. I am 62 years old. My father, Booker Thomas Magwood was born to Anna James Magwood (born in Clay County, Georgia) and Jonas Magwood (born in South Carolina around 1874). Most of anna and jonas children settled in the Georgia and Alabama areas. A lot of jonas siblings migrated to the ohio and chicago areas. Some of the family names that I have confirmed are Howard, Robert,Jonas Jr.,len, Booker T., Boss, Johnnie Bell, Charlie, Rosetta, Susie, Lue, Van Ester,Anna, Eva and Iona.

We are definitely related way back when. Our family are Magwood/Maywood (name changed somewhere along the way in some of the families) came from County Fermanagh, Ireland (and our oral history says they emigrated from England to Belfast (County Antrim) in N. Ireland and then moved to County Fermanagh. Immigrated to Canada around late 1820s/early 30s. We have several Williams - and a number are Methodist ministers. Please contact me.

There may be a connection here for me. My maternal grandfather was David G.Magwood, born 11 Jun 1887 in St Michelle de Bellechasse, PQ. Little is know about him as he died in a 1910 accident at age 22 in Worcester MA when my mother was only 8 months old. His funeral was at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Worcester MA and his body was returned to Canada for burial. Reportedly, his mother was Rebecca Suiter or Suitor. My grandfather had 2 sisters, Susan and Ellen, and brothers: Richard, Robert, and James

What do you think?
Hi, my name is Wylene Bain. My maiden name is Terry. My father's name is Eugene Magwood. And he is from Ben Hill, Georgia. My father had 4 children with my mother, Lula Terry, of Dawson, Ga. I have just come to find out that my father had a whole other life outside of what I knew. Meaning, he was married with children in Ben Hill, Ga, and also had us four. My mother died in 1969 when I was just 3 years old. I have 2 sisters, Linda and Patricia Terry. And 1 brother, Eugene Magwood, Jr. My brother died last year at the age of 34. If there is any one that have information on Eugene Magwood, please contact me via e-mail at wylee33@aol.com. My father died in 1985. I do not have any pictures of him and would really like to have some. I will be awaiting a reply. Thank you in advance.
