Devin, thank you for your efforts in creating our Malabunga family tree. I am the oldest son of Felipe Malabunga who is in Chicago therefore, the oldest in our generation.

The MALABUNGA name is a derivative of two tagalog words: 'MALA' which when rougly translated means 'resembling' or 'something like', and 'BUNGA' which means fruit. Therefore, our family name, when translated, means: 'like fruit' or 'fruit-like'. Our ancestors were from Mauban, Quezon and migrated to Manila. (exact date not known).

As for the family tree, my Dad (your Tito Ipe) and I started a family tree years ago using high-tech instruments (paper, paste and scissors). However, it needs to be inputted to a software. Please let me know if what I have could help you.

Regards to everyone.

Kuya Vern
