Looking for connections or info on McLarkey or Malarkey family. I have a John Alexander Malarkey b. 28 Feb. 1859 in Plaski, PA. and d. 23 Feb. 1936 in Coshoction, OH. I have his parents as David b. 1840 and Catherine b. 1834. In family book, I have John's wife as a Martha Amanda McLarkey b. 14 Feb. 1859 d. 31 Jan. 1938. It is written that they were first cousins when married and that the family changed their names after a short time in America-Catholics kept the Mclarkey and the Protestents changed to Malarkey. I have Martha's parents as George McLarkey and Emily Hazen. My book tells me that both of their parents (John and Martha) came from Ireland but I cannot find anything solid that points to this. Any help is tremendously appreciated. I see that Martha went by her maiden name of Amanda also. They were married in Richburg, NY on 16 July ...
