I am searching for links to Sophia Lydia Phillips ,, she was born in Brazil 1843 ' her father was a Phillip Phillips born London UK .

This lady was the mother of my grandad John George Brown from Sunderland Co Durham UK .

The family don't appear in the UK census until 1861 - there are no records of a marriage nor birth for Sophia ' her mother Jane and Sophia were born in Rio Janeirs Brazil ' this information iv'e gleaned by searching many areas and sending for the marriage certificate of Sophia from GRO .

Is there any one in Brazil who can help find links to my grt grandma Sophia Lydia - i feel sure a marriage took place in Rio Janeiro for Sophia to be born there , due to not being able to gain information prior to 1800 for shipping to and from Brazil i find myself hitting a brick wall head on .
