1. AARON WALKER was born 1850 in Macoupin County, Illinois, and died 1899. He married EMELINE C. MALCOM 1875 in Lola, Crittenden, Kentucky, daughter of JOHN MALCOM and MARTHA CLAY. She was born February 27, 1856 in Kentucky, and died 1896 in Kentucky.
Notes for AARON WALKER:
Aaron WALKER appears to have been born in Illinois, possibly one of the counties bordering Kentucky just across the Ohio River. It was common in those days for people to move back and forth across the river, often marrying etc.
Marriage Bond: 18757
Notes for EMELINE C. MALCOM:
Emeline MALCOM was the daughter of John MALCOM and Martha E.
Clay, according to the book, "Crittenden County, KY Births, Deaths,
Etc. vol. 1" now out of print. Her birth date is listed as 27 Feb 1856.
The same book lists the birth of John W. Walker, born 18 Nov 1876
to A. Walker and Emeline MALCOM. Parents both born in Crittenden Countynty.
More About EMELINE C. MALCOM:
Marriage Bond: 1875
Children of AARON WALKER and EMELINE MALCOM are:
i. JOHN W. WALKER, b. November 18, 1876, Kentucky
Notes for JOHN W. WALKER:
According to the book, Crittenden County, KY Births, Deaths,
Etc. vol. 1, John W. Walker was born 18 Nov 1876
to A. Walker and Emeline MALCOM. Parents both born in Crittenden Countynty
According to Ora Lee Carter WALKER in a letter written to Mable WALKER Pratt, John was never married and died in his teens. He was killed in an accident.
ii. JULIA A. WALKER, b. March 12, 1880, Kentucky.
Notes for JULIA A. WALKER:
Information about Julia is purely based on oral history. There is a possibility that Julia was one of two daughters of the marriage of Aron WALKER and Emaline MALCOM.
According to a letter written by Ora Lee Carter WALKER to her daughter, Mable WALKER Pratt, there were two girls born to this family and both died as children
iii. DANIEL W. WALKER, b. July 1883, Kentucky; d. August 21, 1936, Jefferson County, Kentucky.
Notes for DANIEL W. WALKER:
Dan WALKER was separated from his brother Rollie at a young age. They were reunited when they met in an Army Camp prior to going to France during WWI. Dan was married 5 times, twice to an Agnes Unknown.
In the 1930 KY Census, Dan is listed as living on Cane Run Road in Louisville (Jefferson CO, District 205 page 2B) with his wife Anna. At that time, he was a trackman for the Railroad. Dan was 46 years old, and his wife Anna was 59. Both were listed as being 21 at the time of their marriage.
According to a letter written by Ora Lee Carter WALKER to her daughter, Mable WALKER Pratt, Dan died from a stroke and never had any children
iv. CHARLIE L. WALKER, b. May 1887, Kentucky; d. Bef. 1930; m. VIRGINIA UNKNOWN; b. Missouri.
Notes for CHARLIE L. WALKER:
Charlie lived for a time next door to his brother Rollie on Lytle St in Louisville KY. He is said to have manufactured illegal gin during the prohibition era. He died as a result of being murdered (see the story below) and his killer was never found. Ora Lee Carter WALKER believed that his wife, Billie, killed him.
In the 1920 census, KY, Jefferson CO. ED 179 P 12B, Charlie L. is listed with his wife Virginia and brother "Raleigh". "Raleigh's" age is incorrectly listed as 35 (in fact, he was 25) and the birthplace for both Charlie and Raleigh is listed as "Louisiana". I can find no other document that mentions Louisiana as a possible birthplace for Aron WALKER. In the 1920 census, Charlie was listed as a carpenter for the railroad and "Raleigh" was listed as a bridge carpenter which coincides with other information I have on them. Its possible the census taker interviewed only Virginia WALKER, which would account for the incorrect age and spelling of Raleigh (Rollie) and possibly for the Louisiana mention.
According to a letter written by Ora Lee Carter WALKER to her daughter, Mable WALKER Pratt, Charlie died from a fatcutre skull after having a fight and being knocked down and his head hit a curb. Charlie never had any children
Notes for Virginia UNKNOWN:
In the 1930 census, MO. Jackson County, Kansas City, District 241 page 54A, Virginia is listed as a widow and living in the household with 79 year old Emma Maloney
v. MITTO AARON WALKER, b. March 1890, Kentucky; m. UNKNOWN.
Notes for MITTO AARON WALKER:
No record of Mitto Aron has been found other than the 1900 Livingston Co. Kentucky census.
According to a letter written by Ora Lee Carter WALKER to her daughter, Mable WALKER Pratt, Mitto married but never had children. He died from spinal meningitis.

In the 1910 Federal Census in Kentucky, Marshall Co. Enumeration District 138 p. 4 Rollie is listed as Jeff WALKER (he was often known by his middle name throughout his life), age 15 and is living as a Lodger with the family of John Devine a 41 year old WM farmer, his wife Nettie L. age 40, and their 6 children. In this census, the father of both Charlie and Rollie was shown as being born in Louisiana. Charlie was listed as a carpenter on the railroad and Rollie was a carpenter on a bridge. I remember being told as a child that my grandfather was a carpenter who built bridges for the railroad. In the 1930 Census, Rollie was listed in Jefferson CO KY, ED 138, page 6A living on Lytle St. with his wife Ora, son Rollie Jr., daughter Mable E. and daughter Edna R.
