I am searching for information about Adam Mallard who lived in Alexander Co.NC per the 1850 census. He was married to Susannah Medlin (b. in NC abt. 1812). In 1860 the family had moved to Brown Co., IL. The oldest was a son named Alexander, who served in the Civil War and was left crippled from injuries he suffered in battle. Other children
were Columbus, Mahala Jane (married an Ishmal), Martha Ann (married William Duff), Sarah A. "Sallie" (married a Zumwalt, Angelina (married a Turner), Adam, Jr and Susan A.

Susan A. was born in NC abt. 1844. I can account for her sisters' marriages, but cannot find a marriage for her. A female child born in 1863-64 in Brown Co. IL was a niece to the aboved named siblings, and was named Mary M.(have seen middle name as Galena-short for possibly Magdalena)Briggs.
I can't find a marriage certificate for Susan Mallard and Briggs. There were many Briggs living in Brown Co., as well as surrounding counties.

In 1880, Mahala Jane and her daughter lived with Mary Briggs Staton, her husband, Oliver N. Staton and 6 months old Curtis, Mary and O.N.'s son. Several other aunts lived close to Mary (she was 14 when she married according to her marriage certificate).

If any descendents of the above mentioned Mallard ancestors
could guide me in finding out what happened to Susan, I would appreciate it.
