Do not see any recent posts so do not know if you are still research Malo's in Minnesota. My Grandmother is Edna Malo, daughter of Johann Friedrich Ferdinand Malo and Frieda Maria Augusta Toerpe. Your great grandfather, John Carl Malo would have been a brother of my g-g-grandfather.

I too have struggle with researching the "Malo" name. I have been in contact with a wife of my dad's 2nd cousin (Theodore Charles Malo, 1936-2002), who may have significant additional information that her husband had collected.

I will be willing to share info if you are still researching this line.

Did you know that there is a town in North-central Washington state named Malo. I live there. It has been named Malo since at least 1903 when a general store/post office/train station was built. The owner/builder, Henry Hill, appearantly named it Malo, but no one knows where the name came from - Indian? St. Malo in France? There were people of Scandanavian backgrounds in the area, but I'm not sure that Mr. Hill was.

I don't know if this will help you. But it might be interesting to you at least.

Hello there,

Here is what I've been able to find about the Malo (Malolepszy) branch, this is all research of my husband's ancestors.

George Malolepszy (Jr.) (also called Albert) was born in Germany in 1873 and died in Cleveland, Feb. 1926. (My husband's great-great-grandfather)

His wife was Catherine/Katerina Friess (also called Carrie), she was born in Germany in 1874 and died in Cleveland, Jan. 1959.

They had 3 children:

- George (III): b.1892 - d.1965. Never married.
- John/Johnie Lawrence: b.1893 - d.1966. Married twice.
- Frederick/Fred George: b. 2 Nov. 1897 - d. 27 Jul 1973. (My husband's great-grandfather)

Frederick/Fred George Malo (Sr.) was married twice:

Wife #1, Florence H. Fenn:
-they had one son: Fred George Malo (Jr.), b.29 Aug 1917 - d.11 Aug 1995. He married Wanda Boguszewski (these are my husband's grandparents) and had three daughters: Sharon, Laraine (my mother-in-law) and Susan.

With wife #2, Virginia Lewicki (also called Jenefa):
-they had one son: Fred R. Malo (Sr.) - no information found -
**Virginia had already been married to an Adam Tavrell, the two children from that marriage were: Adam F. Tavrell and Frank Stanley Tavrell.

I hope all this info helps you tie your family to my husband's family. Have a good day,

Elizabeth Sharp

I may have found what you were looking for in the Drouin. I found the marriage of Joseph Vezina and a Ayet Malo in St roch de L'Achigan, but the name isn't listed as Vitaline - it is Anathalie - who happens to be the daughter of Gabriel & Monique Raymond. So if this is the same person as Vitaline, and I can't imagine that it isn't, then she is the sister of Narcisse.

If you email or post back, I might be of better help sorting this out.

Steve Rock
srock@saurette.com

Can't help you with where this couple may have been married, but Sophie's name was probably Ayet-Malo, not Ayel. Maybe that will help. The original Malo name was Hayet or Ayet. Then it became Ayet dit St. Malo, Ayet-Malo and finally just Malo. Try that. Maybe you will find something. Good luck.

My notes are clearer for the Malos. My other cousin remembers Sophie Krueger Malo and her wonderful apple pies! I did my research in Minnesota when I used to live there. Maybe from the marriage at St Pauls Lutheran Church in Fairmont of Sophie and John Malo.Hmmm I'll check, Beverly

MALO / MALOLEPSZY in OHIO

I hoping someone will have these Malos/Malolepszys in their family tree.

If anyone can shed a light as to where the parents of following person were from, I would be eternally grateful:

Fred G. Malo (2 Nov 1897 - 27 Jul 1973: in his birth certificate the name is Frederick Malolepszy) He was born in Ohio and he married twice. Wife #1 was Florence Fenn (1898-1964), they had Fred G. Malo, Jr. (1917-1995)...from what I've been told by his grandaughter (my mother-in-law), his second wife was Verg (not sure that's the right spelling though).

All I know about Fred G. Malo (Sr.) is that his parents names were:

Albert Malolepszy & Catherine Fries.

I would like to know if they were born in the States or in another country, if at all possible.

Thank you,

Elizabeth Sharp

Francois married Mary Dandurand/Landurand/Dongereau about 1861. They had 13 children, all of whom were born in Detroit, MI. I suspect Francois is a cousin to Adolphus Duye/Duyez/Dewey as they are so similar in looks.

Thanks.

Sue Palmer

Im Malo from Finland, and Im very interested about my/our roots. Anybody around the globe can take contact to me with email: erik.malo@gmail.com -just for fun. Its awesome to be part of this astonishing clan. Im married and got two sons, and my older son (5) have been asked about familyhistory, but I cant tell much, simply because my father left me when I was 2, and I dont know so much. I was contact with my grandfather in chilhood, and he was telling exciting stories about familyhistory, but It just left behind years/all changes of life..So thats all folks, and have the best!
