BLUFF CITY--Frances C. "Frankie" Malone, 77, died Tuesday, April 24, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton.
She was born in Appalachia, Va., a daughter of the late R.E. and Minnie Wyatt Carter.
Mrs. Malone was a member of First Christian Church of Bluff City.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bassel "Doc" Malone of Bluff City; two daughters, Melinda Sawyer and her husband, Ellis, of Washington, N.C., and Melissa Neeley and her husband, Greg, of Bluff City; a son, Mark Malone and his wife, Kim, of Johnson City; four sisters, Edith Adams, Ruby Zimmerman and Betty Paul, all of Kingsport, and Mary Graham of Rossville, Ga.; a brother, Argus "Buster" Carter of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8 o'clock Thursday evening in the chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with Richard Kirkland, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service Thursday evening. The committal service and burial will be conducted at 11 o'clock Friday morning at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray French, Homer Stout, Buddy Carrier, Edmond Carrier, Horace Crussell and Jerry Gregg.
