I am interested in learning about the Maloy family of East Montpelier and possible ties to the Crosby family of Gardiner ME and Cambridge MA.
William Maloy came from Eyrecourt, Co. Galway. By the late 1830s he was married to Catherine Crosby and living on a farm near Montpelier VT. They had 8 children. One, George Maloy, was a doctor in Montpelier.
A son, Wm H. lived on a farm (probably the same farm, now listed as in East Montpelier, which had split off Montpelier). The farm was at the west edge of town, between Jacobs Rd and Horn of the Moon. According to the 1900 census question on number of children a woman had had, his wife Sarah had had 2 children (between 1880 and 1900), but I cannot find records of their births.
We have pictures that I believe are these people and their farm. Thanks!
